I drove 6 GT3s at the moment, including the 2 McLarens, with exactly the same FFB settings (driver + game), in particular the car specific FFB at 55%.

I have found that the McLaren 650S returns much stronger torque to the steering wheel than the other GT3s I have tested, including the 720S (cornering).

Is this normal or is there a problem of homogenization in the steering torque.

I think there is a much higher risk of software clipping with this car.

    Otherwise, I enjoy it!
    The rest tomorrow !!

Unfortunately also a known issue. For some cars I use a different FFB preset.

Hi, I was curious about that "Reworked aerodynamics (more sensitive to changes in ride heights" entry in the changelog which is part of every car here and also most of the latest GTE cars update some months ago.

So I did a test at a skid-pad track, where I could run a constant corner radius with some different rideheight. Basically one with lowest, one with very high rideheight.
I tried so far the: Aston Martin Vantage GT3, Aston Martin Vantage GTE, Audi R8 R8 LMS 2019, Bentley Continental GT3 2020, BMW M6 GT3.
With none of these cars, I could reach any (1-2 km/h at max) speed advantage with low rideheight config. For comparison, I also tried some other cars like SMMG Formula 3 2020, Stockcars 2018 and the good old Formula ISI, with all of those I was more or less faster with low rideheight.
To my confusion, if I changed the rake-angle the GT3 cars reacted very well on changes here. For example, only 5mm higher rear was very easy to recognize with more oversteer.
Running out of ideas now.

I'm wondering if someone from vehicle physics department could be so kind, to write a few words about this, and while doing so, could answer some of the questions from the postings above as well.
    Thank you.

First of all i really appreciate efforts like this, because i also do these kinds of testing to test the physics.
This keeps the whole sim side of simulator in check so thanks for efforts.
    My question regarding test
    1. What was the cornering speed in your skid pad test ?
GT3 and GTE cars generate good downforce BUT their weight is quite high,so they are less affected by downforce.(I'm not saying zero effect btw)
You need to go quite fast to be relying heavily on aero.
Raising rear height has given me same results as yours.
With just 1 click more on rear i was able to corner slightly fast in porsche rsr.
Finally it is a good thing that you found front ride height affected on some light vehicles like formula ISI,This goes along my understanding.
I would also like to know about these changes on both GT3 and GTE

Edit: I just checked your picture and results are bit disappointing. Speeds above 170 is quite high and aero should have bigger impact than just 1-2km/h

@TJones I think generally you'd expect very little change with general aero downforce and differing ride heights in that range. What does tend to ramp up is a front splitter getting very close to the ground, and I doubt your skid pan tests will do that - though jacking the back up may help a bit. What that will also do is obviously change the rake and the centre of the diffuser force which might be what you're feeling with those changes.

So, when they say there is more sensitivity to ride heights, it's more likely to be that very low front wing (which will be more at vmax and exaggerated by certain setups) and rake changes. If the downforce changed appreciably between 50 and 90mm ride height (assuming 0mm is contact with the road) it wouldn't be much fun to drive.

I spent some time driving the McLaren GT3s after I saw this post yesterday. I agree the steering torque forces are so much stronger in the 650 than the 720 or really any other GT3. I also noticed a lack of road surface details. Basically all I could feel in the 650 was the steering torque, no bumps in the road or anything of that sort. Not sure if that's from clipping or those minor force just not being there. No matter the level I has the car ffb multiplier at the steering torque is really heavy and there are no road details.

After reading Lazza's post I decided to do another test. Now I choose a car which is known for good undertray aero, namely the BMW M6 GT3. I also choose the 200m radius on the skidpad, instead of the 150m before. I also took more care to get each config (low and high rideheight) in proper balance.
At speeds around 210-220 km/h, low RH config was indeed about average 4 km/h faster than high RH (In time: 20.65 to 21.00).
The difference in rideheight between stints was about 24mm (measured on track with Motec) which is about 10mm less than with the Vantage before.

    Thanks for the update!!!

BTW, Christopher the old GT3's will be update the interiors with the new PBR shaders like the Bentley and Ferrari?

And nothing mentioned here has been fixed... Aston Martin is still showing TC in ABS circle.

Didn’t check all of the cars, but the Bentley and the Ferrari have TC and ABS on in the standard setup.

But they had them since launch. I'm talking about the ones where they changed the dash in the latest update.

Forgive me for being dense...what is the ABS circle and how would I know TC is showing instead?

Launch the game, select Aston Martin and you'll clearly see what is ABS circle. Have you seen Aston's dash?
And you can either compare the values you set in garage or change ABS and/or TC on the fly and see what value's changing.
