    I've tried just about everything.

Reinstalled, tried beta versiones, uninstalled steam workshop, reinstalled distributables, reinstallinga again.

It was working fine until yesterday.

None of the other steam games crash.

Move your Userdata folder out, verify rf2 files in steam, and try again.

Consider creating a trace file and attach it here.

I've uninstaled and instaled this game more than 4 times.

I'm considering to ask for a refund and finish this once it for all.

    What on earth is this?

Not sure what guides you're following, but start with a trace file.

@RafaelV6 Also, stop uninstalling and reinstalling. If it doesn't work the first time it won't work the 10th time, and nearly all the downloading is content that won't stop the game working either way.

I suggested removing the Userdata folder because that clears out files that aren't removed when you only uninstall and reinstall. If you also deleted the rF2 folder then obviously that's covered it already.

Give your system specs and any specific errors you're getting (show a screenshot if possible).

Create and attach a trace file as instructed, I linked to the thread above. This can tell us some things that take longer to ask about directly. (if a trace file doesn't get created, that has its own meaning)

If there isn't a clear error generated within rF2 and especially if there's no trace file, check your windows error log for any clues as to what's going wrong.

Finally, if the game worked 'until yesterday', presumably you've had it for a little while and it obviously worked. It's unlikely you'll be able to refund because you've probably exceeded the refund window.

    16 GB (2x8GB) RAM DDR4
    128 GB SSD SATA 3 M.2 2280
    1 TB HDD 5400 RPM

I'll move the userdata folder to see what happens, when I have access to the computer, and show some screenshots.

I'ts impossible to create a trace file, because the rf2 setup window does not load.

There's no error shown to be reported, as nothing loads when I click play button. It just loads and then stops.

I also tried to run as administrator, but I get the same results.

And I also tried to run with compatibility mode, Win 7, Win 8. Doesn't load at all.

At last, I tried to run the game as beta version. It loads a white screen, but then it crashes.

I reinstalled new updated drivers using Driver Boost 6.

All other games are working fine, loaded using Steam. So I can conclude that the issue is a conflict on RF2.

I played it for months. Steam is giving me the option to refund partially.

OK, I just did it, and it has the same result. Game does not load.

When I verified the integrity, it said it will correct 44 files.

Have you had a windows update lately (I did and it made some unwanted changes), if you have maybe try running the files in this folder (or similar on your PC) \Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\Support\Runtimes . there are 4 files in there and you should run them all.

If the launcher isn't loading then it will never even create anything in that folder. I assumed you meant single player etc weren't working.

For the launcher not loading you're looking at something lower level - missing runtimes as Jimmy has mentioned, antivirus or similar interfering.

Did you check the windows event viewer to see if anything is reported in there?

I figured out what was happening and got the game running.

I'll print the folder that was causing the problem when I can.

It was not an issue caused by Windows Update nor antivirus. It's a folder in RF2.

the reason for the game not launching.

I was fixing the redistributables, intead of uninstallig, then reinstalling again. So if anyone else is experiencing the same problem, don't try to fix it, uninstall then reinstall the files.

@RafaelV6 ,the vcredist... files are not part of rF2.
These files are the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables, that S397 includes in the rF2 folder, just in case that someting wrong happens in Windows.
It's possible that the failure was due to a Windows update.

To be fair to lagg, the OP still thought that was something rF2 related (being a folder under rF2) rather than windows related, so he's just restating that really. (but it is what you already said)

I liked the OPs solution post because he mentioned uninstalling and reinstalling rather than repairing; I would have thought repair would be enough, so that's a good find (to me).
