    Can you suggest a competitive lap time? I can get into low 1:12s in the FF1600 at CC, but no idea what the Cortina should do!
    Cheers,
    Rich

    Sorry I don't presently as the server has only recently gone up and I've done no laps yet.

    However keep an eye on the link below for lap times people are setting. Just make sure to select Castle Combe which will only show once someone has set a time. ;)

    Do we need to use a specific car - there is a big difference in performance between the variants?

    I hope i'm just crap, but I've no idea how it's possible to go sub 1:20 in the "Cortina Mk1 (RHD Road Cars)". They'll barely hit 100, or pull 4th gear!

    You are welcome to pick any car you want. Also don't worry about being the fastest. As long as you have fun. ;)

    I'll stick with one of the historic "race" cars then :)

    Had a poke around and realised you can customise the road cars [a lot] including a 225bhp Cosworth FVA. Given that was a F2 engine, and I've never seen one in a road car...

    Fortunately I don't think the front tyres (the brake balance is fixed) are good enough to make the most of the extra +45bhp over more than maybe more than one lap!

    @hophead @TOCA2FREAK

    For fairness I recommend restricting the selection to the Historic Race Cars for online use and making everyone choose the 1966 works engine upgrade (180bhp).

    The road car can be tuned in the upgrades to have the FVA engine which is considerably more powerful than the rest. This engine was used briefly in a Mk1 as a testbed, and used in the Mk2s.

    The modern cars have better suspension and brakes so also have an unfair advantage.

    I'm still waiting on Studio397 to fix the forced upgrades feature which would solve the issue. The other option would be to create a 'league edition' mod, but that would undo all the work and research that I did to make the car historically accurate.

    Sadly it's now too late for me to change server to only allow a certain upgrade/car.

    Also I wouldn't hold your breath regards Studio397 fixing the forced upgrades feature. o_O

    Thoroughly enjoyed that. Thanks for letting me join in. Definitely be up for more races - particularly anything 60s/70s. Anything with more power than grip, eg. Lola T280, 917k, FF1600!

    Cheers, Richard
