Working rfcmp version v0.63 (26/01/2021) Download here v0.63 Changelog: - Working wipers - Starter sound fixed - adjustable mirrors - new L+R mirror glasses - faked mirrors for the outside view - adjusted mirror position in cockpitinfo.ini - separated windows with rain - wccarbody material now with rain and removed double sided tag - added texture and json for rain/ripples effect - new driver, still not perfect - fuel level gauge fixed - material windows renamed to wcwindows, to avoid conflicts with track material names Spoiler: Original first Post So you might know this mod from rF1... It was about time I transported it into rF2! We have a completely new dashboard with more detail (and a radio, but that's not going ingame lol). I've just made a quick conversion to see how fast the process would take as it's my first time ever specifically with rf2. Shader was made quickly in 3dsimed so I don't know what to improve in terms of DX11/PBR...
the window you may need use windowshelinside or outside to have a normal look I think, and about PBR you can look at this https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/ibl-pbr-car-shader-assistance.64024/page-4 but I suggest you should turn all the rf1 material which use cube map back to normal T1 or others. And if it's too bright you need to add albedo map https://docs.studio-397.com/developers-guide/ you can see here. But you need to adjust this to your car, otherwise maybe the tex will be too dark. This car looks nice and happy to see you digital apex back to modding ( I saw this mod some time ago
Ok so after some pointers from @Haris1977 I'm going to leave a link to the rfcmp for other to give their input or help me fix some stuff. https://we.tl/t-XoMNDfPcpy Known issues: - Dashboard is the older version, i have a more detailed version - Needles don't show up (same values as I had in rf1) - Shaders are not DX11 (i have no experience here, only in Assetto) - No previews - No driver (still figuring out how that works, copied the one from SkipBarber) I can provide de ModDev files as well.
Thanks @Alex V. for this mod! It is becoming one of my favs (along with the ladacup98 mod). Just to add a few tips / things about the car: 1) When traction control (tc) is on (low / medium etc) there is a strange sound issue when you hit the gas. You may hear the "issue" here: https://vocaroo.com/17qNaJKLxkNW (starts at 01 and ends in 05 sec) You have to have the tc OFF in order to eliminate that sound. Maybe someone could help (@zxd1997, @Corti or a sound guru) and fix this - even if the tc is set to on? 2) As Alex said, dashboard needles don't show up. Pic is here: https://gofile.io/d/BduMWZ If someone could help fixing this (along with the not working wipers) it would be awsome. PS1 Car is a blast to drive even in this stage. Looking fw for future updates! PS2 I will upload ALL the car screenshots here, with the correct filenames, in order to work with the new ui. I will start with the 91 class (27 cars), then with 92 (25 cars) and lastly with 93 (19) class.
Ok, @Alex V. here are the car screenshots in order to work for the new ui (just add them where the *.veh files are, inside polog40_teams.mas, and repackage): Class 91 (27 cars x 6 screenshots = 162 images) Link: https://gofile.io/d/EzpRNt Class 92 (25 cars x 6 screenshots = 150 images) Link: https://gofile.io/d/dDNIR9 Class 93 (19 cars x 6 screenshots = 114 images) Link: https://gofile.io/d/O8zv8e Really hope for an update with the new car thumbnails and (or) other fixes soon!
I still have the fov issue though. The dash camera is way on the front, here is the image that i get (the pic is with the seat far back): https://ibb.co/MZK7GCt I use FOV=36. If i use 46 i have the perfect view, but this setting (46) is not right for the other cars (seat is far behind). Any ideas how to fix that? Can you guys check if you get the same fov as me?
it might be the TC params problems in HDV, and the car seems have no TC, so just set it to full 0 might be ok (I also seems produce this problem in my test racex conversion. ), can just open other car's hdv to copy the tc part to use. a bit busy these days. I can try to help some bit of this amazing car, but seems can't too soon haha so I can't make promise.
Thanks @zxd1997. For the time i have set tc to off for all cars hoping for a permanent fix. Any idea what file to change in order to have better dashcam eyepoint view? Now the seat is far to the front and i want to adjust it to the back (i mean without changing the fov of my game, just the dashcam eyepoint of the specific car). Any idea? This is now https://ibb.co/MZK7GCt This is what i want https://ibb.co/K0D3rLK I m sure it is a value change in an ini or gen file..
.cam file, open it, and adjust the position to wherever you want (the detail I can't say now, you can adjust it and try, I forget the value forward or after is using minus or plus value) for the cam you want to change
I m in talks with the modder. Maybe he can fix it and release it as new update (along with car screenshots or whatever new). We will see. Thanks anyway I will report if i stumble to any problem
It seems that Alex can't find a solution to the fov at this time. So, if anyone has an idea it may propose it here.
Update: - Added all the previews (thanks @Haris1977 !) - Added deformable tires (weird glitch in texture) - Removed TC sound entry from the sfx https://we.tl/t-gM48gKYF1V
Try HeadTilt plugin, you can move the camera freely and save the settings by class or by vehicle https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/headtilt-plugin.48176/
Here quick fix for cockpit cam FOV & position (cam code from skipbarber, with adjusted COCKPITINFO.INI, remember to restart RF2 after extract the files): https://we.tl/t-FIsxZLVhBz
