Why do S397 seem incapable of producing vehicles with brake lights that actually have glow and brightness, instead of just a red band appearing? Pretty much all GT3 and GTE cars are near on impossible to see, compared to cars made by the likes of modding teams Simtek and FVR. This issue is most noticeable when running the 2020 IMSA skin mod which has a mix of S397 and Simtek cars. Is it just me? I have searched for the issue and found nothing, but can't see how it's just an issue at my end when modded cars all appear well.
It's not just you. I was driving Le Mans yesterday with a GTE field, and the brake lights are pretty much invisible, even in the dark. Maybe there's a graphic option that needs to be selected?
Ahhh, interesting. I've also read that its not worth having PP on anything other than Low, which is probably why its set that way Thanks, I'll check it out tonight :-D
Well, it looks much better all around with it higher but it comes with FPS cost. Thats why people say to lower it lol.
Post effects on ultra and it is still crap. Granted the modded cars are slightly over done, but at least I can see them braking, when the AI does its S397 trademark random brake checks. Easy to see which are the S397 and which are SimTek. FVR mods have an even nicer glow, but thought I would use GT3s as a comparison.
In fact, I take it back about the modded cars being slightly over done, as it pretty much matches this.
I concur with @Coutie , did a test with the Porsche GTE last night with various PP Levels and they certainly need improvement at least (will check the other cars another time).
This is not a good representation of reality mate. The camera inside the cockpit usually dont get light enough sitting inside like that so it brighten the image up and thus the lights looks non existent but in reality sitting by the wheel and having realistic light through the eyes it looks more clear to the driver.
Sorry, I was using that video as an example of why brighter lights are realistic. For the first few corners at least. I don't really want to compare RF2 to other games, but name any other game, and the lights are so much better than the S397 car attempts. Even SCGT does a better job. Clearly decent results are possible, just not from official cars.
