It is basically ready for release, as there is nothing left to do from the RF1 version.

I am thinking of adding period sponsors and cars and crowds. That would add to the atmosphere. I have also contacted the
Gnoo Blas Classic Car Club in Orange to try and get a book that has the history of the track and some rare photos that may help to upgrade the track to be a little more accurate.

I will fine tune a few things today and hope to release tonight.

Started to add a few objects and extra houses etc....and cows!!!

I am thinking of scratch building some houses. There is one with a old shed at Windsock, and one house surrounded by hedging on the entrance to the main straight. I have no idea how they lived that close to the train track :D:eek: It is so hard to find photos of Gnoo Blas.

I have contacted the Gnoo Blas Classic Car Club to try and get a book that was written. That has lots of old pics apparently.

Also I am going to add some signage like the last image. There is a section missing and I can not find a photo of it when complete. Not much signage around the track, just a few on Pit Straight and the exit of Windsock.

I asked Woochoo if I could use some of the cars and crowd from Longford as there are FJ Holdens etc from the time period. So that is good too.

This track is amazing! So much fun to drive. The only negative I've noticed so far is that the AI are slow on the blind right turn after the crest of the hill after the first sharp right turn.

So....spent....6 hours stuffing around and searching for a suitable track edge to do the job. I found one but it was mapped crooked..so had to adjust it. Once that was done I was cutting and pasting alpha channels because the texture was "stepping" and had strange edges in game.

Then, settled on the right shader, in this case Bump Specular Map T1 mul T2, and used the same spec and fresnel settings as the main track...and BOOM! It looks OK. Good enough lol.

Now I have the right texture done....I need to map all 6km of the track edges.

I am not changing it any more.....:p:p:D

Whaaaaattt!! But there are two leaves on a tree that I would like the colour changed a bit....:p:D
Excellent track Mike. F3-Fanatics are running here this week and I had the F3's up. Thought hmmmm a bit sedate so I switched to the F1. Wow that changed things. One of the few long tracks I'm not game to have a beer anywhere. :D

This might sound strange but I personally think it’s amazing how important a good track edge is especially for historic tracks nothing is an immersion killer more than a straight edge. Thanks Mike for your attention to detail this track is already very good and you are making even better :)
