I bought the Reiza pack today. Noticed, quite obvious actually, that the colors of those cars look flat and a bit saturated. Kind of cartoonish. Reminded me of how they looked on AMS. In contrast, the S397 cars are a clear step up. Even the free Skippys from ISI have better, realistic-looking color saturation. Is this because the Reiza pack never got a DX11 treatment or whatever it is that the graphics engine improvement brought recently? If so, would the pack be updated (by Reiza or by S397, Reiza appears busy with AMS2 problems)? Those cars looks out of place among the other excellent DLCs.
I've seen this question pop up a few times recently on whether the Pack will get updated, I think it's up to Reiza to do it as it's their Pack but as you say they're busy with AMS2, so no idea if or when it will get done, you'll have to ask them on their forums perhaps It's not really up to S397 to update, they have their own base content to concentrate on but I wouldn't rule it out 100%.
I had a bit of fun driving the Reiza cars around Guapore after buying the pack on sale having only purchased Imola at launch. All the cars very different in performance and character. Not a bad track for testing, plenty of long corners of varying radius on a short track. The prevalence of banking and the lack of a big stop probably the only shortcomings. That Puma coupes looks and drives like something built as a kit car inspired by the Ferrari Daytona.
back when they were released after first PBR implementation on cars they did fit well, but things changed since then and they need updates
The Reiza pack is probably the only DLC for rF2 I regret getting. The cars need work, and the tracks are too flat to warrant the (full) price. I'd rather pay more for laser scanning and meticulous attention to detail.
Is it my imagination, or have the Reiza tracks all had an upgrade? I can't see any updated files, but Guapore now looks like it has hi-res textures/models and Imola no longer has fully saturated colours everywhere. Am I just remembering them wrong?
