A friend is starting with rF2 and was looking for a car to drive. They're new to sims and I thought they should start with something simple and try to learn how to drive a race car in a sim. What would be a good car to start a sim racing career?

    Thanks,
    ZZ

If I had to learn to drive on simulation and rF2, I think I would turn to (sorry, it is not free) the ~15 GTE and GT3.

If I speak of 15 cars and not 1, it is that we can easily switch from one car to another, the difference in behavior of the different cars is real but not gigantic.
This would make it less tiring and learn the behavior of several nearby cars.

Otherwise, just use only one of these cars. I recommend to systematically deactivate the aids because the goal is to learn driving and to progress.

Some Tatuus, not among the fastest, I think are ideal and free.

The free Radical would be my recommendation or maybe the Nissan 370

The Tatuus cars are pretty n00b friendly.

How about the Skip Barber car. Isn't that a good starting point?

It's a tricky car if you aren't aware of throttle control to keep the car from swapping ends. I enjoy the car since getting a wheel but not for everyone maybe. Give it a go but it could be frustrating at first.

It's a bad racing car for beginners, a good learning car but needs to be combined with multiple views of skip barber: going faster. And lots of patience.

I would say combine that with a medium power tintop.

The proposal made by a user by proposing the last radical (dlc) is a very good proposal, provided that it is used on suitable circuits because the top speed is barely 230 km / h.

I think for the beginning it is better to avoid manual transmission and old cars.
