I don't know why I was expecting a public release of a BOP. With the V24hr event, we knew the cars had to be balanced due to the advantage the Ferrari has. So naturally I assumed we'd all see a correction prior to the event. But the carset is a closed vmod so they can make changes without affecting the general population's cars. So every morning I was checking the forum to see if the cars had been updated when now I realize we don't have to be updated for the race field to be corrected. sigh....
I don't understand: the BOP only concerns those who participate in the 24H? so there is no bop for the public at the moment?
Too bad, I was also expecting a BOP for all rfactor2 users, I thought it would be released along with the May roadmap. Ferrari has an advantage over others
It would be totally silly to invest a serious amount of time to do proper BOP, as it is necessary for the event, and dont give it to the public. I'm sure they release it sooner or later. They might want to add some graphical stuff like better interior (PBR) or sound, so things who doesn't make it in time.
I've been expecting an update, but not until after the 24 Hours. Isn't it better to have the results of that feeding into a definitive public release?
There MAY be a public release, but as we approach the race, I'm assuming they have already BOP'd the limited number of cars in the race. Keep in mind all those GT Challenge and GT Pro races. All that data has already been collected and sent in.
I'm not all that suprised that the BoP release didn't come before the event. After watching the VL24 event there is plenty more than just a BoP that was used for the event. Working gauges for the Ferrari, updated sounds for Oreca and Porsche. Though I'm hoping it's released this week along with the LeMans DLC. Remember though, a BoP for LeMans won't necessarily work for other tracks, so while what they learned in the LeMans event is good, it doesn't mean they can just released that to the public and it will work for all tracks, because it won't.
Yes but LeMans is a very specific animal when it comes to BoP. A LeMans specific bop would most likely not work well on Sebring or Nurburgring. I'm sure their is useful info gather from the LeMans event, but it's not going to be a case where they just release that to the public.
There is going to be some type of LeMans DLC released soon. It was mentioned in one of the roadmaps. I'm guessing it's the track, with the GTEs and LMP2 all in one pack instead of having to buy 3 or 4 seperate dlcs. Maybe some new skins but probably not much else new.
