But, as you say by yourself, you have a problem with rfactor 2 and that is what we try to fix here. And if i were you, i would try everything possible to get it fixed. You didn't try it with the keyboard? I wanted you to try the keyboard, because it isn't connected to an USB port (i guess). The problem for us, that we want to help, is that there is no "useful" error in the trace file and, as you have said, also no error in the windows logs. But without that, it's almost impossible for us to identify the problem, by using the forum.
For the moment, I have no solution. Worse still, I still haven't been answered, it's honestly getting worrying.
It can't have a problem with your wheel (as the whole game) because lots of people use that wheel. You said earlier it crashed using an XBOX controller? Are you sure it won't crash with keyboard? Have you tried for a while? It really seems like you have a USB issue. And from the discord discussion, be sure you use a USB port on the back of your PC, and preferably USB2 (not a blue one).
Here's an old somewhat similar issue, apparently resolved by reinstalling the wheel drivers. I would be trying to reinstall any related drivers if I were you. https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/rf2-crashing-and-controller-out-of-sync.43804/
That is great that it works with the keyboard, because that indicates a problem with the USB port i guess. Do what @Lazza has said already and try the suggested USB Ports. Maybe you also could uninstall all USB Entries in the windows device manager, that they get installed new, when you use one.
My USB ports are indeed on the back, that's for sure on my part. and good news, we were able to identify my problem with my steering wheel
In every USB port. I mean that you don't connect another device than the wheel, as long as you test it, to avoid any conflicts. And i really would recommend to uninstall all USB "entries" in the windows device manager, before you start testing.
Can you tell us what the current issue is? You said on discord that USB3 was making the game crash with your wheel. Has the crashing now stopped? (I may have misunderstood... and still worried about photos of case USB ports, but maybe they aren't your own)
Unacquiring device "Thrustmaster T300RS Racing Wheel" (if this is the last line in your trace.txt, your controller driver is probably buggy) wherever I plug in my steering wheel.
That line is only a problem when it's literally the last line in the trace. Your trace is full of acquiring device errors, that seems to be the issue.
So the game still crashes with the acquiring device error in the trace, when you plug the wheel into a USB2 port in the back of the PC? I'm asking because you haven't actually said that.
