6gb vram is not enough for rf2 i guess, especially on lemans and nurbs, if you use opponent detail on high (not full), you can max everthing for 1080p
I have an hd7950 now, and its good except on nords. System ram will be doubled too, and from 8gb 800 mhz ddr2 to 16 gb 3200 mhz ddr4. Plus a much better processor, from phenom II x4 970 to a ryzen 5 3600. So, hopefully i should be good.
As was mentioned, unless you run Nordschleife with 40+ AI cars, that card should be good enough to run maxed @ 1080p. And with 40 cars you can just drop the opponent texture or better, circuit texture detail level, one notch, game will still look 99% the same but consumes 20-30% less VRAM.
Thanks Stone. I thought it would be fine for 1080p. I watched a lot of videos on youtube about the card, and it seemed great for what i want it to do. Now i just need to install Win 10, all my drivers, and see how it looks.
I am blown away by how great this upgrade was. with everything maxed, except post processing on high, getting well over 100 FPS at Nords.. But, my wheel shot craps, so now i need a new one lol.
Can I ask what CPU you have? This is the card I'm looking to get as well and am very curious what performance to expect in rF2. Thanks.
I also bought an Arctic Feeezer 34 esports cooler for the cpu. Works great and is only about $40 @ newegg. I read a few posts about the stock cooler not cutting it for gaming. So i figured, better safe than sorry.
A few screenshots with fps. Be advised, if you enable FXAA in Nvidia contol panel, it will drop your fps quite a bit. These are with it off. I was still getting decent fps with it on, 80-100, but I really can't tell a difference in the IQ with it off.
Hey just to add on to this I'm using the same config as you R5 3600 and GTX 1660 S. I suggest looking at this guide to extract the best performance. https://forum.studio-397.com/index....rmance-guide-on-how-to-prevent-low-fps.61265/ I've been able to manage fine at both 1080p and 1440p, especially if you reduce opponent car detail to low.
