Video settings tab not working

Basically what the thread title says. I click the video settings tab and nothing happens which means I'm unable to check whether the gpu is on auto or my graphics card etc. Anything I can do to rectify it? I've already tried to verify my files and I've tried going back to the new ui and back again and still no joy

 

Have you tried opening from Bin32\rF Config.exe?

Hmm, can't help there. That works for me. Need one of the gurus here.....

 

That error suggests a directx problem, a couple of google responses say to do two things, 1. restart the computer in case the error was a “fluke” and 2. reinstall the games directx files, so it this case go to the ...rFactor 2/support/directx folder and run the setup.exe

 

It was indeed the directx, much appreciated
