DD1 user and FFB completely changed after latest update. There is no FFB effects while turning at speed other than bumps and curbing. If I turn the gain up it only turns up the volume on curbs and bumps but no effect on any other FFB effects. My base is unchanged settings wise and works fine on other titles. Game is unplayable at the moment. Is there something I could trouble shoot. Please help, thanks

I would delete or remove these files from Steam folder (close rF2)
    "controller.JSON" found in:
    ....\Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\UserData\player

"FANATEC Podium Wheel Base DD1.JSON" plus any custom controller json you made, found in:
    ...\Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\UserData\Controller

Verify game files (Right click rF2 in Steam Library/Properties/Local Files tab/Verify Integrity) to get a new FANATEC Podium Wheel Base DD1.JSON.
Start rF2 and load the DD1 profile.

Thank you but unfortunately that did not help. Was there some changes to FFB that were made? My DD1 operates fine for all other sims but after downloading the Reiza pack and this latest update, I now have no resistance while turning, its as if under steer effect is on at all times at 100%. I actually don't believe DD1 was an option before to select as a controller, perhaps there is an issue there? I will try selecting my device as a CSW 2.5 and see if the FFB comes back.

Same results. I am very saddened as this was the best feeling sim and I cant figure out what changed to cause this.

    Thanks,

I have had a similar issue in the past (Fanatec 2.5) and found that if you follow @ADSTA post and then make sure you're opted out of all beta's
    upload_2020-5-7_11-6-49.png
and re-assign the left and right controls in game
    upload_2020-5-7_11-12-16.png
    and see how that goes.

    Thank you,
damn mine already appears set up to opt out of all beta programs. I have also tried reassigning left to right by turning my wheel in the appropriate manner. Is there a way to safely hard delete and uninstall the entire sim and reinstall through steam?

I feel pretty dumb right now because I feel like its gotta be something obvious Im missing.

They look like a legacy from on line sessions where you've downloaded .rfmod files and later removed the content that they refer to.
So: Mod "20190827_SOENovice2_civic 1.0" references a non-existent component "HondaCivicBTCC_2013 1.99". Maybe references a Honda Civic BTCCversion 1.99 that is no longer installed??
Some of the others look like they reference a skin pack (WecSpa20 1.0) that's looking for a car to install on to that may not still be installed folder.??
Mod "WecSpa20 1.0" contains an updated component "Corvette_C7R_GTE_2017 2.05" no base component installed.

I could be wrong though. (someone please correct me if I am)

You would be better off closing steam, moving your user data folder \Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\UserData to another location on your hard drive and re-start steam then right click rFactor 2 in steam interface
    upload_2020-5-8_15-29-7.png

and then verify the integrity of game files
    upload_2020-5-8_15-34-52.png
as this will rebuild all the things you need to play.

Yes, but this system doesn't solve problems with some installed content or the UserData folder.
The best way is to uninstall the game and delete the rFactor 2 folder if still exists.

So removing the user data folder and rebuilding doesn't solve problems with the user data folder?? Wow I never knew that, good to know.

@lagg is right, probably best to uninstall, remove the rF2 folder from your system and re-install. This will make it like new.

Removing the UserData folder solves the user data problems, off course.
But if there is a problem with content in the ...\rFactor 2\Installed\ folder, or in the temporary files in the ...\steamapps\workshop\content\365960\ folder you can do two things, or remove those folders or uninstall rF2

I would go with JimmyT's train of thought. (Can't believe I said that. ;))
Using the Launcher's Content Manager I would uninstall/delete everything listed as "Mod".

Definitely not at the state to be thinking about uninstalling, easily fixable with reading what the errors are.
Did I just agree with Jimmy again?

I appreciate the feedback. I haven’t had a chance to get back on and try further. I had deleted from steam and reinstalled but didn’t have luck but I also don’t believe that deleted all folders from my hard drive. I’m a bit of a noob with PC gaming so I apologize but much of this is over my head. I guess at this point I will have to try and hard delete uninstall and then repurchase content again. I only had the Reiza pack as additional content and it was after downloading that I had this driving FFB issues. During that install some error message popped up and went away and eventually the download went through but clearly something got corrupted.

You don't have to re-purchase the content as it's stored with your steam account, you only have to download it again.

Is it happening at a particular track on in a particular car?

I've just had weird ffb at Croft in the FR3.5, similar to how you explained in your OP.

Up to this point all was fine, but not tried anything else since.
