Me and woochoo are working on vintage cars. 1954 and 1967 le mans cars. They may not be represented as exact cars, but we are honest about them. At the moment I am working further on 1967 cars physics, and will continue on 1954 cars too as l am improving myself and get time to do research, testing... Ideally it would be awesome to have it as long term project, maybe even getting helped out by more modders and if community would provide bit more feedback it would be good too. This being said I would be happy to meet someone to share physics during development, ideally to talk about it, it is incredible what few words can sometimes do.

This was my favorite release in this past year. The 67 endurance cars. All because of one car. Who would have believed alternate controls could be hacked to enable a manual wing adjustment. A ten year old boy, growing up in the wastelands of Eastern Washington state found such amazing technology pure tech porn. To have Woochoo recreate that car....wuff!

It doesn't have to be same name again, but I wonder where are the people who made historix mod, where are the people who loved it ?

No idea how long this will take or if I'll ever work out how to get it rolling. Screen01.jpg

What do you think of the Jaguar XJ13 and the 1969 Formula 5000 Mod?

Here the vintage is little calculated, many projects but few in the process of realization or development, certainly creates more attention to a modern machine with all the help possible and imaginable, the vintage machine does not pay too much work to be behind too much handle, it is easier to feel like a pilot made with all electronic

The 1969 F5000 mod is awesome. It just needs some encouragement to fix some of the physics issues. Not much has been done with it since it’s first introduction other than some recent shader/texture work. There are some supplementary extensive paints of the entire field waiting for the fixes.

I am in contact with the guy who pulled it all together. He's gave me permissions to use some bits on the Cortina. Sadly the original models are showing their age now so can't be used.

If you were to build the whole HistorX mod again, I'd imagine it would take years.

@dylbie Thats certianly the truth, it would, just look how long it took DRM team to bring it to AC, and they still got bashed for few minor not up to standard bits. Although IMO all cars still were beautiful. Also they did got some bashing for stepping a bit out of AC Kunos paradigm of how every car should feel, and went extra mile to make them more unique and realistic, and that also was not met positively by many guys...

Speaking of HistoriX models, I am kind of guy who would be ok with aged models, just minor polishing. Few more polygones for round stuff like: wheel arches, tires, rims, steering wheel, onboard instruments, windshield corners and such, set shading properly and then it is ready to do what matter the most - Physics ! But thats of course counts just for models that are fine, but just low on polygones, any complete remodeling of significant stuff like body is almost whole new project.

So just one guy put Historix together, or he was the lead ?

Also I wonder would it still require having GPL original disc to instal the mod ? :D

I just dared to google. And there is great manual of the mod including credits, and also a link to still working website: https://www.virtualr.net/historic-gt-touring-car-1-96-released

Nah it was an incredible effort by a lot of very talented people. There's some pretty famous names in there too who have gone on to great things.
