Thx, gimp or photoshop? zip doesnt work could you reupload? then I can add it to the skin at racedepartment Maybe gimps dds plugin is defect when exporting to alpha dds? Or Im just doing something wrong
I just downloaded and it worked fine. Just unzip and place the the altwindow.dds file into your car skin folder and click reload in in the showroom of rf2 and it should work, it will create a new mass file in the skin folder. I tried gimp a while ago and l couldn't get on with it, so I will be sticking with photoshop, I found photoshop the easier program to use, so I can't answer any questions about gimp. Hope this is of help.
The problem does not lay with Gimp. Yes it's different, but still has all you need. Some resources that can be found here in the forum already: https://forum.studio-397.com/index....template-clamp-layer-group.60416/#post-949896 https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/creating-skins-with-gimp.62286/page-2#post-977686 There is also my old tutorial out there, but you are probably prefering @AMillward 's videos
@FuNK! Its not the skin and colors thats the problem, its when exporting windows to alpha dds. Would like to see your result of my gimp xcf file in the altwindow.zip file from this post: https://forum.studio-397.com/index....f2-car-skins-here.33862/page-158#post-1021171 and if you can make i it better with gimp then tell me what I did wrong. I have tried everything with outputs colorlevels etc. Until then I use @Highlandwalker's photoshop version.
It was windows10's intergrated unzip that didnt work, retried with 7zip and I could unzip it. thx I'll upload it with my skin at racedepartment.
so wierd, just tested yours before I upload to racedepartment. Its still transparent in my end.... I have reloaded, and overwritten with another too just to see if its the correct file im using. tested with another showroom still transparent. i can see the rear body through the window top.
Are your sure it's transparent? To me it is looking like it is just the white "glare" from the lights. Different showrooms have different lights, which is why for Highlandwalkers screen shot, it looks good, but yours do not, using the default showroom and the simple white one (I forgot what its called). Part of the overexposure is that the windscreen texture is not IBL, like the WCCARBODY. So you might have to play with the color like what Highlandwalker also said. You might be able to use the abido map as well to help dial it in. Hope that helps.
I've enjoyed the Legends races on The Race I have trouble keeping track of who is driving each car with the generic liveries, so I painted up a couple of cars in a "sorta-kinda" style. I tried to leave room for the driver names, and the rF2 and The Race logos, which i don't have Rubens Barrichello Emerson Fittipaldi Adrian Fernandez Jan Magnussen MAS livery for each of those four here, plus the template, if anyone wanted to paint up the rest of the drivers https://drive.google.com/open?id=16hOqm0tctc3_s8oMIaqgZvMxDnNNuPZe
Huracans are now WIP. Haven't got Michelin tyres on it yet since it's just a virtual driver for now. Btw that's a reason for a rfcmp installation for the STK cars.
Porsche GT3 Cup #05 Nuvo Racing team Yeuy Tan Porsche Carrera Cup Asia 2019 get it here if you are into chrome... alot of it. https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/porsche-gt3-cup-5-nuvo-racing-team.31958/ Is there a way to make chrome more blurred?
Yep just set down the "baseCoatRefractiveIndex" in the *.json file for your chrome material. Hope that's what you want to achieve.
This is the used settings for chrome in the picture. Code: "Green":{ "baseCoatRefractiveIndex":15, "baseCoatRoughness":0.13, "baseCoatSpecStrength":1, "clearCoatRefractiveIndex":1, "clearCoatRoughness":0, "clearCoatSpecStrength":1, "lacquerColour":[ 0.658824, 0.658824, 0.688824, 1 ], "metallicFlakeColour":[ 1, 1, 1, 0 ], "metallicFlakeStrength":0, "metallicPaintStrength":0 }
