Latest Roadmap Update - February 2020

Great update guys

 

I think it was your dad that I gave several rides to at the end of the day.

 

Late July to just about Labor Day is the only time you stand a chance of seeing clear skies. Most of the rest of the time, there are some clouds hanging around. Back when IndyCar races were held around Father's Day, they'd struggle to get decent weather.

 

Hopefully I can make it to one some time.

 

Please improve the appearance of the sky and the clouds, this will bring more immersion to the game

 

I believe that at the simexpo 2 years ago they said that they had planned to improve the clouds.

They changed priority IMO.

 

A beautiful simulator should also be a priority

rF2 is lucky to have you onboard. Your work on GSC and AMS was sensational.

 

Two big questions as we approach the next roadmap:

1. It was suggested we would be getting much more frequent updates. After an initial surge, its gone awfully quiet. As far as I can tell the last update was on 2/25 for the VR one, and before that 2/17 for the last UI update. That's 6 weeks? The implication was we'd be getting weekly or bi-weekly updates.

2. By now we have all seen the eSports announcements, for F1 (various), NASCAR (iRacing, Heat), IndyCar (iRacing), IMSA (iRacing), SRO (ACC) etc. etc. events with real Pro drivers. So far, I've seen only TransAm and they'll be using rF2 and the 2012(!) Camaro GT3. Is there no prospect of working competition infrastructure in the near future, to capture some of these events/series? Have any discussions been had with F-E, ELMS etc. to do something? rF2 is missing huge numbers of eyeballs here.

Newsflash,,,,COVID19. Sheesh.

 

1. Yeah the worlds Pandemic might of had an effect, whilst small studios can easily work from home it's not that simple when you have an enforced Lockdown when your families are home as well. Life comes first, updates to RF2 can wait if that is the case in this situation.

2. The Race have been using RF2 and had 50k+ views for the first Race, again this sudden interest in eSports and the need to quickly cater for it may also attribute to point #1 above.

 

As far as I care Updates can wait.

Rene said last night that they are doing their best working remotely and everyone is ok at the moment.

I think everyone needs to understand that we haven't seen anything remotely like this globally since WW2 and we are going to see the impacts of what is happening for months and months. I am fine with us not getting updates, I am just happy knowing that everyone at 397 and in this community are safe and well.
