I don't know what the problem is, but now by shifting gear down I get not 5-4-3-2-1, but 5-1 and the like. Yes, it's not every time, but it's a shame to drive half an hour and ruin the engine...

Is there a problem with the steering wheel or the game? :(

Find your player.JSON and open it with Notepad
    \Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\UserData\player\player.JSON

In the Driving Aids section find the lines:
    "Repeat Shifts":4,
    "Repeat Shifts#":"0 = no repeat shift detection, 1 = detect and eliminate accidental repeat shifts within 100ms, 2 = 150ms, 3 = 200ms,
4 = 250ms, 5 = prevent shifting again before previous shift is completed",

Edit the first line. I have mine set at 4 and never have any repeat shifts.

If this gets worse, could mean the end of life of the micro-switch of the paddle.

So far, everything's working fine. But my steering wheel is under warranty, since it was bought at the end of December 2019. :)

    In that case, it's strange.
I wouldn't increase too much the Repeat Shifts to realise if the problem is going worse.

Agree. If it were a few years old a new switch would almost certainly fix it (I replaced my Ferrari rim switches with some from a 20 year old MS ball mouse!) so you might consider a warranty claim at some point.
