Just some features of new F1 cars for the 2021 season.

As a general idea, looking at the FIA models, we can say that basically lenght of cars should be the same. This means that a F1 car may be 5500-5700 mm in lenght, but max width ( front wings ) will be less than the actual cars ( wheelbase around 3700 mm; Front wings narrower: 1950 mm instead of 2000 ), and also the flat bottom around the car will be reduced in width.

The rear wings are apparently in the same height, although wings are simpler and larger.

Front wings are simpler , with only 3 elements, and front fins are modeled in a way that they shouldn't cause accidental puncture in other cars.

The nosecone is directly positioned on front wings , without winglets, and special brake ducts on suspensions. There will be no bargeboards, and sidepod will be smooth and simpler, but always with a max width around 1600 mm

( the flat bottom around sidepods will be less than actual value of 1800 mm ).

Suspensions will be more simple in geometry but more efficient, because they will sustain new tyres. Front tyres are covered by a thin winglet, that should address air flow from wheels toward radiators.
These "winglets" are basically tyre wake cleaning blades, moving with wheels during their steering.

Tyres are changing in some features: front wheels will be reduced in tread width ( 270 instead of 305 with max width among 325 and 345 ), while rear wheels are remaining as they are actually ( tread width of 405, with max width among 440 and 470 mm ), but their diameter will change from 670 to 725 for slick tyres, and from 680 to 735 for wet tyres.

Furthermore, rims will change from 13 to 18 inches, and this is the motive for which they will need more efficent suspensions. Low profile tyres will include also rim covers, like in F1 2009.

How can be fast new tyres? How much grip will have new compounds?

    NO answer...of course.

From a theoretical standpoint of view, cars should be 3 - 3,5 secs slower than the actual cars.

Globally, car will be more aerodynamic, but they will be heavier, changing from actual 743 to 768 kg ( with driver ). Halo will be more fine on cars.

The real strong point of new car will be the diffuser, that will start in the actual position of bargeboards, continuing until the rear side of car.

Body drag in wake will be reduced to 10% respect the actual 40-50%; therefore, one should expect that next F1 cars may fight closer, mantaining their downforce at around 86% following another car.

Nothing is changed on DRS, although someone proposed to abolish it, since the rear wings will be larger.

Nothing on engines ( but they will be reduced in number ), while all cars will get the same gear setting. However, about gears, it has been proposed to reduce them from 8 to 7.

All these things are theory....at the moment.

So yes it is still being worked on! Currently Someone is working on getting this ready for the game making nice progress and some good feedback for myself! (because when the 2020 cars will be revealed I will probably be working on those as well)
Anyway... Here a skin for the Alpha Tauri Toro Rosso

texturing still open position xD I am not the greatest at this at all and good texture can help a lot of course with how the car looks at the end. So be sure to hit me up!

Glad they aren't going to look like something out of the Tron movie, new one's might look ok with chrome or silver thrown in.

Hi guys, so we need a little bit of help, the display on the steering wheel itself is a part neither of us know how to do. Does anyone have knowledge about this?

The recent F1 tests with new 18 inch rims on tyres have been performed with tyres similar to those we will see on F2 cars.
So, unlike FIA proposed some months ago, front tyres will be 305-720-R18 ( 12 inch x 18 rims ) , while
    on rear wheels cars should have 405-720-R18 ( 15,9 x 18 inch rims ).
Anyway, F1 2021 cars should be with 20% less of downforce.

Trying to create a new LCD based on the ACFL model and this error is appearing

    upload_2020-2-16_15-5-39.png

I switched to TGA and the same error continues.

    What's the solution?

I solved this part by adding the file extension, but other problems arose

    upload_2020-2-16_16-3-34.png

The RPM LEDs do not work and do not show the information on the LCD

What name should I use for "RMPLED=" ?

I would also like to add the flags

for my Ferrari from 1975 I used "RPMLED=312_RPMBAR" in CPIT.ini and the Material Name is "312_RPMBAR30", so this is the last RPM Light when you have to shift, you can use 29, 28, 27 etc.
