Hey everyone, Just an update on Lakside and QR. Lakeside_Park V0.26 * Added sponsor signs. Will fix up poles showing through * Slight change to AIW file thanks to Mark Pearce. * A few minor changes to access roads and experimenting with grass textures. ***NEXT UPDATE WILL BE 0.30*** * Outer terrain hi res images and trees. Much expanded horizon and Lake Kurwongbah full size More detail in entrance and test track/driver training area. Scratch built bridge Scratch built cafe in pit area 2020 will see then end of my Journey with Lakeside development. There will be 3 versions. Only minor updates UNLESS I can afford to do a laser scan of Lakeside. Will see. Fine tuning and texture update indefinitely. * Current track day layout, circa 2011-3. (this was the best version of the track before bridge removal and the stupid tyre walls / safety barriers / fences which made the track ugly. * 1990s V8 SuperCar race day version. Hard to get perfect as the track changed many times but will do my best. * 1969 AGP / Tasman Historic. This was the first year with the new pit entrance and current control tower. Queensland Raceway Currently planting trees lol. Trying to get the in car view close to what is seen re tree lines, positions etc. Car park and entrance road will be rebuilt Outer roads rebuilt I may do some low poly modeling of the rest of the Willowbank grounds. Just so it looks OK. Outer terrain will be hi res and trees planted so that it look good in the distance like Longford for example. Inner track details and grass blends. Fine tuning and texture update indefinitely. Possible laser scan of track inside barriers. Once at a level I like, I would like to convert to AC and AMS2 if that is possible. This would have been done except for my wife's illness. Mike
Hey Mike, We are glad to have you here again!!! The important thing is that she is better the rest is secondary. Regards & Merry Christmas from all IsR's
Mike great news about your tracks, lakeside in particular you have chosen some great eras. As my local track I have seen some great racing there with great memories There are a few quality mods that will be right at home on your different eras.... f1 legends, super tourers, Aussie legends to name a few Best of luck with your project
Thanks again Mike for another great update. Found a slight issue when using the FVR Supercar mod the cars can get stuck coming out of the pits and then give up. (QLD Raceway - National) Also had an issue at Lakeside where the human cars get pinged for speeding in the pitlane (despite pit limiter turned on)
I hope you aren't going by the white line. The car in the picture is just out of pit lane by a few inches. That is going by the "linear lap". Almost forgot the pit entry. Once again that is going off the linear lap display.
Cheers Mike. Glad to read your making a few versions. Last time I was there it was sad to see the bridge gone and the lawyer fences up. I felt safer standing trackside than I do walking along the footpath.
@Mike Cantwell Regarding this thread https://forum.studio-397.com/index....each-track-but-just-the-hour-selection.64872/ I looked at your gdb files and as far as I figured they had the correct lat and long. I realise you have the same lat and long for QR and Lakeside but I'm not concerned about that. As you would know, in reality, at 7am in the middle of winter the sun has risen around Brisbane. Do you know why it is still dark when you set a session to start at 7am, even with the gdb having the race date as April 12? Is this a known rFactor error?
Timezone is correct but I just noticed DST is set and we don't observe that silly time altering voodoo in QLD. Latitude = -27.690278 // degs from Equator (range: -90 to 90, positive is Northern Hemisphere) Longitude = 152.6525 Altitude = 75.0 RaceDate = April 12, 2015 // default date for the race TimezoneRelativeGMT = +10.0 // hours compared to Greenwich Mean Time (should be negative to the West) DSTRange=(67.0, 305.0, 0, 9999) // (start day 1.0-367.0, end day 1.0-367.0, start year, end year); multiple lines allowed
Hey everyone......just found out I can do this........Still sorting the mesh but I can now get the outer terrain done using LIDAR for both QR and Lakeside.... Update will take some time...please see my comment about the health of my wife in the Oran Park post.... https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/oran-park-laser-scan-lidar-conversion.65767/ But, this is promising.....
Just a quick update....I have LIDAR data for Queensland Raceway. This is the area around the track including the quarry and drag strip. The idea is to have detailed terrain around the track and then lower poly terrain from google earth out to a 5 or 10 km radius so the horizon looks more real like More's track in RF2. That has the idea I am after. The poly count is massive, so I will reduce as much as possible to keep the detail.
