An Rf2 admin asked me to remove link from official forum I don't know if he was referring to kya or brands hatch. I remove both direct link If you need write me in private (but you could easily find them on the web)
thank you the F1LR 2.0 mod (current v1.00) for rFactor 2 is designed to be used the virtual cockpit vehicle mirrors. I remember same vehicle mirror vs HUD mirror issue in rFactor 1, where is it the MIRROR.BMP resolution related. technically just depends hows the mirror texture uv-mapped on the 3d object and whats the mirror resolution and texture ratio. there was a F1LR 1.0 mod for rFactor 1 which offered some kind of mirror case related Upgrades. there was a F1LR 2.0 mod for rFactor 1 which didnt offered such kind of mirror related Upgrades, because it never gave a perfect solution for the F1LR 1.0, it was just about compromise. well, I could try to put into any future F1LR 2.0 mod update some kind of mirror Upgrades again
One suggestion. TV Cockpit. Bring the view down to just in front of the visor. The Bt20 (or Spark or Eve?) would be an obvious point of reference. Other than that, me likey.
Hats off to everyone involved in this mod! It's an absolutely incredible experience in VR! I noticed a couple of issues - the mirrors in the Ferrari are the wrong way around. A simple UV map flip will solve this. The second issue is the tyres. They could do with a new 3D model or at least a good bump map/texture adding. Maybe ask S397 if you could use the Brabham tyres? Apart from that it's incredible! Flying around Kyalami in VR on the ODS server I felt like I was hanging on to a missile for dear life! I guess that's what the real drivers would have felt like back then!
thank you for your hints, tips, wishes and issue founds, guys as to the tire gfx it was already answered, see quoted text below
For the tires, it is just a bit of an itch. I think just using similar settings as the rF2 Brabham would help. Just some bump mapping. Because the shine on the groove part does make it look dated. I don't know if it is too difficult, or how it exactly works within rF2, but would it be possible to have the rear half shafts spin? I know this is just a direct conversion, but I'm just thinking of things to utilize the features that rF2 provides over the previous rF1-GTL-AMS versions. Anyway, I was able to do a few more laps last night at the 1975 Silverstone, and that was a blast! I'm really happy to see this finally released. Once that mirror issue is resolved, everything else is just extra.
yes, relating to F1LR2 tire materials and textures there's is some kind of improvements in plan. currently the most enhanced ones are the from AMS mod version. the real wheel axles are currently set as suspension instance. I cant remember why, probably because it acts that way better then to be set as spinning wheel instance, relating to the axle connection to the main engine part.
I think it could depend how you set gear ratio with long gear ratio on kyalami you often don't see rpm red light you could try to shorten gear ratio just saw players on cooper, lotus49 and honda at spa server and rpm lights works well
So much fun in VR! I love the Hooper. So nimble and reminds me of how I always used that car back in the GPL days. The GBR sounds great, but the car is gutless at low-mid RPM.
hi Bill, glad to see you here too Ive mentioned recently the rF1 F1LR 1.0 conversion which was mainly your and GFraser1965 work btw, it seems the rF1 HUD mirrror vs vehicle VC mirror is still same issue and solution at rF2 too
Does anyone know if the old GPL setups will translate over to F1 Legends? After running GPL for 20+ years, I've got hundreds of setups.
In case anyone wants to try. Here's a setup I made for the Beagle at Monza from my old GPL Eagle setup. I made it as close as possible to the GPL setup. I'm not a great driver or setup man, but someone might like it. It might be a good starting point at least. I was able to do some mid 1:30's with this. Delete the .txt extention.
I had more time with the Brit 49, it's a real delight to drive. After a slight tuning ( harder springs mainly) it is perfectly balanced, and easy to drive (more forgiving than ISI's BT20 when pushed hard in my view). When you see replays, those cars look and behave as in the real life footage. Thanks and cheers.
