I'm trying to run a dedi server with fixed upgrades but they don't seem to be applying. I've tried searching and found an old suggestion of bundling it in with the vmod - but we no longer use vmods so not sure if it's relevant still. Does anyone know how to do this? This is the old post I found - https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/fixed-upgrades.50017/#post-829028
Hi I'm struggeling with the same. I didn't get the "fixed upgrades" working. I created allready an ini file and put it on the server but it seems that this is not working. As Chris asked bevor does anyone know how the "fixed upgrades" option on a dedicated server work? My only workaround so far is to create an update rfcmp and remove the settings from the upgrades.ini which aren't allowed.
I just tried this with the 1968 F1 Eve. Selected fixed upgrades and it will only let me in with the correct upgrade selected. If I go into tuning and select a different upgrade I get booted from the server.
The last thing I know is that upgrades on servers don't work. Like...never did. And I can't remember reading somewhere that it did get fixed. So I assume it still does not work. proof: https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/still-no-fixed-upgrades-on-server.62312/#post-976634
I am far from my pc. maybe testing with the base version of the mod. Instead of using the update, create the vmod with the base version.
This feature still doesn't work. Had a chat about this yesterday with @Christopher Elliott . I had the feel that the problem was not really known. And the trick to create a new rfcmp, with modified upgrade.ini, for example, is not the best solution, because this way I lose the base mod, at least for single player use.
I do know the problem, and we thought it was fixed by including the upgrade.ini in the upgrade rfcmp. We will look into it again, thanks.
