What I would do and what I am doing is, if your waiting for ai fixes, leave rf2 for a year or so and come back. Hopefully then we will have an overhaul to offline. There's now many good sims that offer great/better offline racing. rre ams and acc to name them. Don't waste time waiting for something to come it may never do so ..
Well of course. I love rf2 I'm happy to Come back., for me atm rf2 isn't what I'm looking for in a sim. We all have our reasons. Dam I'm even learning how to play civ titles in the wait lol
There are things you need to know to race against AI. One of the most important is to disable the rules, especially in rainy weather, otherwise most of the race will be in full course yellow.
With respect, the developers said that they would look at the AI issues after the grand tour game was finished. That game released a long time ago and look where we are. I imagine it will be two or three years before you see something.
Slightly on the same topic, when did the AI learn to adjust their fuel strategy? I've always been under the assumption that the AI always takes the hardest tyres and a full tank of fuel, and also fueling to 100% during a pit stop. Sometimes this isn't the case though. Some cars seem to take the softest compound instead, and not take full fuel at the start. You can also see them doing short stops towards the end of the race because they're not doing a full fuel load anymore. Did something change or have I just not been paying attention? And what triggers this behaviour, because it doesn't seem consistent?
I always thought that ai strategy depend on their default setup , if you impose a different setup their behaviour will follow (tire/fuel wise)
Definitely not true. The AI has always ignored the fuel and tyres settings of the setup. In addition, it happens with identical cars too, like a grid of Sennas.
