Maybe not street cars, but track day cars. Caterhams, Atoms, X-Bows etc. Stuff that can bee hooned around the Nordschleife but at the same time totally raceable.
I'm in. Combination of 3 to 5 older road cars with h-patterned gearbox (maybe 1or 2 with seq shifter), would be awesome. I don't think those cars licences are pricey as modern GT cars, so that DLC pack will be cheaper than current rF2 cars. That would be interesting and cheapest cars for newcomers to join, also for rF2 players to enjoy more.
2006 Aston Martin V8 Vantage (and N400). That's all I need in RF2 to be happy. I have no interest in modern racecars. Historic racecars would be welcome too. If anyone wants to work on the 3d model, I'd be more than happy to make the physics with first hand experience both on physics (917k for instance) and hooning the Vantage.
Now that we have Nordschleife, it would be great if we get lower classes too other than FIA-GT3 (=SP9 class at 24h Nords). There are lower (slower) classes down to SP2T (lower than 1600 cm³ with Turbo). Overtaking lower classes is a big aspect at the famous 24h Nordschleife race. And the lower the classes, the more they are comparable to street cars but are still racing cars. So that would not be contrary to rF2 is a Racing Simulation. Though I would like to see some Street Cars in rF2 you often see at Nordschleife Track Days too.
Some drifting cars, I'm sure, would be popular?? And if we had base street car ideal for moding would attract new users?
I like streetcars. I would love to see some after we get a proper modern F1 car, an LMP pack, two GT4 packs, V8 supercars, a reworked Nascar with updated tracks and most important to me, a reworked Kart. So... yeah....
I'm definitely on street cars. I don't like boring open wheel cars and prototypes, but I'd love to see WTCR DLC and a few other series of cars with good FWD physics
there are so many great race cars missing... no interest in street cars here... we have race tracks and a racing sim... for what do we need road cars on race tracks... they behave like shit unless you make them harder, deeper, better brakes and so on... but then you have a race car ;-) instead we need more from GT4, TCR and so on... And of course more historic cars like capri, escort, stingray, mustang.. look how many people played the historx mod in rF1
OK, i've tryed to write "you're not right bla bla bla" but yeah from that point you're right... ;-) But there it is a historic race car what was for that time a race car and much better than the road car from that time... and in my opinion it drives much more than a race car than 50% of these assetto corsa road cars (for example)... if there where hundreds of guys who build cars for RF2 i would say "of course, give them their street cars" but i think there is not the manpower for everything and so i hope they will not take there time to build road cars... but that is just my point of view and i know that we have people who would love to have some road cars for track day action for example although i think that is a very small group of people compared to race car group...
AC is a very good Sim that does Street Cars very well, therefore there's no need for them in RF2 and it's a moot point anyway as S397 have already said their focus is on Racing Series.
