Freezes when updating

Since I brought the endurance pack; whenever I try to boot up rF2, usually it tries to update then it freezes for no reason - how do I solve this. I tried reinstalling and it's the same

Because I have not played rF2 since the Steam sale nor the Endurance Pack, how eligible am I to a refund - since I'm best out of the whole thing

 

Are the cars shown in your STEAM INVENTORY? You can check this before you launch rF2.

I've heard clearing the download cache in Steam settings / Download page is worth a shot. There is some good advice in Dave's link, my offering is more scraping the bottom of the barrel in comparison.

 

I deleted the cache as advised and I get this. This is as far as it can go, a non working blank screen

 

Have you opted out of rF2 betas in steam?

 

I brought this in January 2018, so guess I was past beta

Further update - turns out I never was

 

@Godwind Racing That's the steam betas section. I meant the rF2 betas. Check this:

It's probably unlikely, but worth checking anyway. In this case (rF2) beta doesn't really mean beta; prior builds are still available via that feature, and sometimes leagues like to ask people to stay to something that is known to work (or doesn't have a newly introduced bug).

 

Done the same as advised (that included rebooting Steam) and still get the same blank screen
