I had to create a new exception in my AVS/Firewall for the beta install..sounds like it's being blocked by something.
Have you tried to Verify the Integrity of the Game Files via Steam..if you're missing a folder/file it should find it and download any missing....

The files Noel referred to are Loose .dat files in AppData\Roaming folder, most likely at the bottom (below all the folders)..they are Not in the...
Check your Network Settings, looks like you're joining as a Spectator.

..well, I spoke too soon, it went through the motions of the update process but the dedi-server still shows as 1098..:(
OK, I Thought I finally got it to work, I overwrote the SteamCmd.exe with a new one :rolleyes:
Yes..it shows 0% downloaded then verifies the installation.
SteamCmd isn't finding any updates yet??
