Just been watching the GT Challenge video, this track looks great. Has anyone tested it for VR performance before release? Don't want to buy it only to find it's a stutter fest (Ryzen 5800x, RTX3080).
Thanks for all of the hard work. One thing I've noticed is that in the car setup menu, the controls for reducing and increasing fuel load are not as fluid as before i.e. holding the mouse button sees the level incrementally decrease. It still works but isn't as optimal as it was previously...
Someone told me that running the graphics setup for your monitor at a lower resolution makes the HUD larger. I've tested this and now use 720p resolution in the setup too and the HUD is much better.
Obviously not repositioned but still a decent workaround.
Agreed it's a much bigger job than just tarting up the graphics on some cars.
I suppose the question is, how can S397 fund updating old content that becomes dated as the rest of the simulator evolves. This is where the iRacing model which many hate with a vengeance works well.
The more content...
Thanks for the quick reply. My wheel setup (fanatec DD2) is exactly the same as I use for other cars which behave normally.
Maybe I'll delete the Caterham and let it reinstall. I did this with the Dallara IR18 and that fixed an FFB issue that I had experienced for a long time.
Just piggybacking this thread. I too have noticed that some cars have very little FFB. For example, the Caterham, I have my FFB set at 330% for that car whilst others are 80-100%. The McLaren MP4-13 is similar.
I've only scanned this thread very quickly but have you tried changing car setup i.e. ride height, spring rating, dampers etc? I too like you can find some tracks very twitchy in some cars, leading to over reactive FFB. Softening the car setup definitely improves the situation as it would in...
Thanks for the quick reply. I'm streaming data from RF2 to Crew Chief and SimHub for Bass Shakers. I've disabled recording and I have a Motec data logging plugin installed but I think it's disabled at the moment. I'll have a look later just to check.
I've an issue with in game sound which could be an RF2 issue or possibly a PC issue. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. I'm using Default HRFT with headphones (HP Reverb G2 over USB).
When I'm in game, occasionally when driving all of the sound from RF2 will go silent. The...
After some head scratching and fiddling I've eventually managed to get my system running well on my Reverb G2. The optimisation and tweaks were numerous and in several areas.
1. BIOS - I made some big improvements here as many of the bios settings were set to default. Enabling XMP/DOCP memory...
I definitely agree on the LCD, mirrors and HUD. It would be great to have a better HUD option for VR too.
Aside from that, skins during multiplayer. If you decide on your setup to not download custom skins off the server then I see no reason why rf2 couldn't uses a random default skin instead...
