It would be great to have in game car/track info

    Hi,

    it would be great to have cars/tracks description in game. Something like those teasers in Steam Workshop item pages:
    https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=922034345 or https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1238611586 plus some raw data like HP, transmission type, wheel drive, etc.
    I am not car junkie, so I don't know much about cars, I just like driving experience and to be honest it's difficult for me to "get in to game". I need to google for car/track characteristics etc. I would be great to have all needed info in the game. As a noob simracer I don't even know which car I should try at the beginning (ok, skip barber and vee but what next?), I don't know car power, torque to hp ratio and all that stuff.

    I think that such info in game would lower entry point for new gamers and would bring you little more money. Just imagine those headlines: "rFactor - easy to begin with, hard to master" :p.

    thx for reply, I have CarStat, but as you wrote it does not work with S397 official content :/

    If the info is hide on purpose, i suposse that they're not going to show it. Otherwise it would be public nowadays.

    They re writen in other sims,on the web and in this forum too sometimes.
    Some cars are also series restricted or spec series like fr35.

    Anyway these guys compete on the track and see whats going on with their opponents, i dont think seeing rf2 factory stats will give some team an edge.

    I heard both Ford and Holden fiddled the V8 Supercar physics in iRacing to stop each other getting the data.

    The data in rf2 is encrypted anyway.

    So how do you guys know what are optimum rpm’s to shift? What are optimum breaks temperature and all other race driving related stuff?

    I always appreciate when the track has the number of pitstalls listed. It should be possible to display that when I'm selecting the track, not after it starts loading. Somedays ya just want to get to the track and drive, not add, or subtract cars until everybody has a clean garage.

    No reason there should not be a redacted version of the data with some of the information replaced with approximate figures (or missing completely) but I suppose that gets you into difficult conversations with whoever supplies the data - "We're going to say it has about 600 BHP and we’ll say nothing about the dampers but we’ll give the gear ratios..."

    I think, for single player car/track seasons, I'll make some race events so I don't have to think beyond selecting the car I want to drive.

    ...for example: the upcoming Porsche cup car the BHP figure is on their web site, so you dont have to worry you re hacking into the universal motorsports hierarchy.:p

    In the new ui the loading screens are scrapped so you wont even see the slightest track info available. They will remain highly classified in the gdb file among with other invaluable data!!

    ...ok the new ui shown is not final, we have to wait and see...
