Where did I claim something like saying vast mojority is offline playing with AI? I just posted my opinion
Considering the current state of the UI and competition system being worked on/perfected, don't expect it, at least in the next two months... If it comes at the end of the year fully working i'll be happy..
Last month Marcel said it would be likely weeks until at least a Beta was released for testing. Since that hasn't happened I can only assume that there were bugs larger than they were expecting found.
On discord Marcel said: "we will give an overview in the roadmap end of this week". So lets see what that will bring
The AI breaks too early, accelerates too fast usually, and for general behaviour just hit alt+I and observe, if you think this is near to human behaviour ok, your opinion. For me it is simple state based behaviour / algorithm. The only real about sim racing is interaction with others online, so why dealing / searching reality with AI when you can get this at least 100% real online for free? But ok some complain about unreal trees instead of just going out of the house to see one 100% real...
Offline and online are 2 different worlds. Offline, I take a break whenever I want and as long as I want. Offline, I can restart when I want. Online, I am tied to too many factors, which I simply do not want. I'm almost 40 years old and would like to measure myself at the weekend in the evening with the AI. Online there are many Rambos. Then the talk about the headset. For me a no go. You like it. It's alright. Let's just accept the mutual opinions. That is also a generation question. The young people find offline boring. Such an old bag like me finds online stressful. Let's just take it that way. Others use the offline mode as a sparring partner for her league race preperation. I definitely want a strong AI !
@memoNo1 I just like you to know that I have kids older than 40 years. I find offline boring with predictable AI`s and I am racing online only.
A lot of nice stuff can be done for making AI really awesome by tweaking AI specific parameters of hdv file, and tbc tire file. You can get it just right at brakes, at cornering, in the rain and so on...
I do not criticize your opinions, they are not mine, however. On the other hand, do you realize that you judge and criticize a lot the users of rF2 who do not have the same use of the game ? You should think about it IMO. I say that after reading another of your posts a few days ago. Everyone's way of appreciating rF2 and simulation IMO. Every practice must be respected.
Indeed but how AI`s are driving is based to algorithm and no mater what you do AI`s are predictable and will never give you same racing experience as Human`s do.
The movement defending easily improveable details such as trees is just amazing to me, as well as their arguments and attitude.
True, but rf2 AI is state of the art, and maybe I haven't used them enough, but they keeps surprising me. But online racing will always be much above with right people and format.
Respecting that everyone should do what they want with their rfactor, I think it is ridiculous to play against the ia, not only is it not real, for me it is a waste of time, it must be, that some people do not like to stay behind many pilots, like them feel ashamed of not being ahead, I mean not being so good pilots maybe, ... in any case the ia does not behave like reality, there are many leagues that have specific days to have races,I'm not interested in AI, I think it's absurd
I'm so happy to hear it from Marcel that the competition system will feature scheduled races and splits based off ratings. I honestly didn't think they were going to go that route but pleasantly surprised they are. Really curious to see how that works out because I feel like the size of the player base will affect how well that type of system works. I wouldn't be surprised if the new UI beta is released without the competition server up and running. The current UI hasn't really stopped me from playing, so whenever the new one is ready is fine by me, I know others don't share that opinion and that's fine. I also haven't been playing since 2017 or whenever the UI was announced.
