I think the problem with the ui is, is that it's a lot of background coding and fixing things from the ISI days. It's quite hard to show anything from that, as hardly anyone understands it, and it's just text. What i'd say might be a better step to do by s397, is actually start talking about stuff normal people understand. Like start discussions about what they think the competition system should become, let them give input. Maybe talk about it in a roadmap. This is just so people are talking about what's coming, rather than them talking about why it's not here yet.
@Gonzo , like i've already said, it's taking too long, but they're not only doing a "UI" they're almost rewriting the software again! If you follow rF2 development you'll know that recently they had to face problems that weren't in their agenda, but my hopes are that we might get something after the Simracingexpo...
I hope we will have during the simexpo : UI + Competition system + Nürburgring ........ I cross my fingers. For these 3 things, the wait was long.
Too long is better than no new gui. People put pressure on them to be more open, to publish release dates and they opend it, you re getting an update every 4 weeks now. And of course they are not rewriting the entire software again, way too much work to start from scratch. That shortly appeared issues and bugs are not the reason for a delayed gui. In software development you often cannot predict the effort until you reach the end of development. I am pretty sure they self want to show progress on the expo. Lets see and visit, i ll be there, you?
It’s a picture from the shared Rfactor 2 stand from this Year’s Simracing Expo found on Twitter. So since when Nürburgring is official content in Rfactor 2 And every race that goes on the Nordschleife start’s on the Grand Prix track. Claude
Sure. Last year as they annoucend the licensing they confirmed to bring all the layouts NOS, GP, VLN....Südschleife perhaps..it's covered with the license but they were not sure. The pic above also shows the GP-layout very clear.
I've just logged in to reply this one which could be arguably the most stupid answer I've ever read. There's a number of reasons certain people won't join a league, from lack of available time to any reason you can elaborate. Unnecessary to state something about public servers (empty rooms, crashers, etc). So if you can be faster than AIs (I doubt you can beat some 120% AI time in a perfectly well done AIW file for specific track by the way - you're not the avatar's guy) this would be not a reason to fix a broken feature that is there since Rfactor - the AI cars behavior on the draft? The Aidraftstickness AIW line seems to do nothing anymore and the lack of AI x Human and AI x AI overtakes is a deal breaker currently. I hope developers don't take this sort of BS answer in consideration.
Not sure if you already heard about irony... Thinking you just logged in to make serious post about a non-question makes me think your life is really boring And yes, with some cars i can beat AI at 120% And of course we need better AI, just not a priority... Oh, and i respect a lot your work
AI is something of past century. Noone needs it. And if someone can code human like behaviour for AI he probably will not work for a cheap gaming product but make some much more money in the real car industry nowadays
