No ill will intended at all Chief, just comparing photos with the 3D's from differences you brought up from the Villeneuve car is all.
Nooo mate. I should be quiet, as jymp says, my intention was to help your query ("don't know, the Jacques Villeneuve car looks a little bit strange .....")
I'm not sure but is there such a thing as an "Evo" kit? It looks kinda like the 84C nose/chassis with the 85c side pods. But honestly, I think it is over kill to make it that version and/or redo the whole thing. If rF2 was more like rF1 where you could simulate whole seasons and have body changes for each race, then it makes sense. But don't kill your self
Yes. I completed it. The dds is in the pack that I uploaded. I can get the .PSD up tonight, along with the two logos that I haven't uploaded yet (Sorry guys)
I agree with you Chris. It looks like an 84c with modified bodywork. Evidence is the notches on the cockpit walls that are similar on the 84c. We are all working with a sparse amount of information, and what we do have is mainly grainy photos and legends dotted around forums. Virtually every driver had a different sponsor race to race. It's highly plausible that a driver wrecked a chassis so they bolted the 85c aero on the 84c to make do, or that a driver simply liked the handling of the 84c better. The 85c was an early Newey car, and some driver's just don't like the planted rear.
I read a report from the 500, that Jacques crashed 2-3 times in the month of May, before being replaced by Johnny Parson's. So I guess it might be possible that they could have used an 84 chassis. https://doctorindy.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/1985-new.pdf Unfortunately this doesn't give chassis numbers. But I also remember reading an article that this was the first Indy 500 that had the whole field all using brand new cars, so that would mean it would have been a 85C
It seems that it was customary to adapt cars in those times. Now a rivet with a piece of carbon is a subject of investigation. http://8w.forix.com/march90ca-march.html http://www.marchives.com/kitlists/85C Kit List.pdf http://www.marchives.com/drawingschedules/85C Drawing Schedule.pdf
@djvicious Here is the Vandervell logo https://www.mediafire.com/file/ytgrq7g8yq14qb7/STS.psd/file @JoeP1 Here is the STS logo https://www.mediafire.com/file/bkpv9s5jlt6ubp3/Vandervell.psd/file @ChiefWiggum Here is all my .psd, The Villenuve car is in there, if you still need it. https://www.mediafire.com/file/j4uj0s89hfl87lc/CrivitzChris_March85c_Templates.7z/file For everyone else, here is all the skins so far. You may need to delete everything in your "CART 1985" folder as I had to rename the Emerson Fittapaldi (to Emerson Fittapaldi85) and Dick Simon (to Dick Simon85), folders and .rcd for it to show up in my game. https://www.mediafire.com/file/awxudryycgnwzco/CrivitzChris_March85c_V3.7z/file I'm going to start work on getting GENStrings working on the March so that we can get all the parts selected that way. I should have something by the end of the weekend hopefully. I just got the car working in DevMode
@Chris Lesperance I couldn't get Al Unser Jr to show up in the car list. I got the road version of Al Jr to show by changing the name in the RCD file from Al Unser Jr, to Al Unser JrRD. I still can't get the Indy version of Al Jr. to show. Not sure what is wrong, but I suspect something in the RCD. Edit: I got the Indy version of little Al's car to show by changing the name on the RCD, and the dds folder to Al Unser JRIN. I also changed the component line in the RCD to LolaT900. Skins look great by the way.
Thanks for the logo Chris, I think you got your links mixed up though. I had already made the STS logo so I should be finishing the cars and posting them tomorrow.
Ok cool. I didn't have it show up at all. I included it. I'll try and get it figured out. But I think Chief will have it added to the package. LOL! I was doing a lot at the same time Glad to see you got it. Looking forward to seeing the full car in game
Will upload as soon as I make some small adjustments. These are finished. The dds and psd files can be found here:https://workupload.com/archive/qkV9dpT
