Is there some kind of guide/tutorial on how to set up 24hours race of Lemans? I mean step by step instructions for beginners. I read „24hours of LeMans coming to rFactor2“ and bought it but what’s the easiest way now to start the event? It’s only the track! But the event is a multiclass race with day/night transition and variable weather. Is this possible in rf2 without having to mod something? Using VR version (Rift) if this matters... Help please! Thank you!
I‘m so stupid! I wanted to write „How to set up...“ in the title of my thread but had a typo and wrote „Now to...“ and I can’t even find a way to change the title... Sorry...
Most of the time i set the session settings to time mode instead of laps. Race time to 1 hour and 30 minutes. Time multiplier to 15x (so you get a complete race with day-night-day. After that is select the cars i want (from the endurance pack https://store.steampowered.com/itemstore/365960/detail/1004/ ) + i bought some extra like the https://www.unitedracingdesign.net/product-page/rf2-detroit-egt-2018 To start you can also try this free workshop item for some nice cars: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=788866138&searchtext=endurance Example of my VR Le Mans session: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/462962800
It depends a bit of how far you want to go, how good your hardware is and how much money you want to spend. I run a mix of the Enduracers Mod that you can get for free on the steamworkshop, the Le Mans DLC and the PX Mod by URD. With a skinpack from Racedepartement, you can run those two mods together and get a 2015 Le Mans race with over 50 cars and the respective skins. At high/max graphic settings it's pure blizz and you won't get this anywhere else. I mostly setup a simple race weekend and run the race with time scale of 20 or 10, so that I get a full cycle in 1:12 or 2:24 race distance. Run a little practice session and a Qualifying to get the order sorted by class and it should be good to go. One little hint about dynamic weather, FCY and safety cars though: I would advice you to run flag rules with black only as there are currently some issues with the FCY and safety car system while using AI. Dynamic weather works in theory, but you need to start in a dry scenario and setup the weather slots accordingly, or you simply use a wet Qualifying and race afterwards. For now it's better to use dry conditions but with variying cloud cover if you aren't familiar with how the sim works though. That's the option if you can spend some money. If you want to taste some Le Mans athmosphere for free there are a few nice options aswell: Enduracers of 2017 Le Mans track: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=788866138&searchtext=Enduracers + http://www.internationalsimracing.com/forum/index.php?topic=4686.0 1991 Group C Le Mans race: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=582567883&searchtext=Group+C + https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1117395228&searchtext=Le+Mans The fantastic Historic Le Mans with historic Car sets by Woochoo for 1954 and 1967 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1213606756&searchtext=Le+Mans + https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1213604700 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1213554944 As you see, there is plenty of choice.
