Latest Build Update rFactor 2 - 1.1112 Now Available!
    rFactor 2 version: 1.1112

    Steam Build IDs:
    3921932 (client)
    3921933 (dedicated server)

We recommend updating all dedicated servers
    Changes:

    • Improved performance logging to be faster and give more information.
    • Fixed skewed driver labels on triple screen multi-view (cockpit and track-side full-screen cams).
    • Removed aggressive threading as it’s not that helpful.
    • Improved timing to help avoid stutters and real-time freezes.
    • Improvements on materials and lighting (see article for full description).
    • Implemented all new ‘digital flags’ – for ‘Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans’.

Is the public-test beta worth to be used after this update?

i dont know since which build that occured, but the whole rF2 menu, plus camera change now feels lightweight and is free of delay, which also improves the feel of performance. whatever you did on the performance side, the feel improved massively to me.

    Good!

The RPM Gauge appears to be now broken on the Xfinity Series mod.
It worked fine last saturday (15 June) and does not since the latest update it seems, comparing picture from the latest build and the older version (both pictures taken today offline at the Sebring DLC track).
Could it be related to the "materials & lighting" changes ? If yes, could other mods be affected ? Should the modders work on it or is it in the hands of Studio397 ?

I am not sure if it is this you are asking for.

    Controller.JSON

    "Use thread":true,
"Use thread#":"Use a separate thread to issue FFB commands which may block with some drivers"

Any ideas what the 41MB update was?

Further, what, if any, optimisations have been done in the lastest update? I'm amazed that I can run 30 cars at Le Mans in the rain at night with 60x time on the suggested high graphical settings (with the exception environmental reflections on low and 30 visible cars) and hold 60fps 99% of the time. The GPU (GTX 1070) seems to be the issue rather than the i5 CPU which never seems move above 40% unless I speed up time.

This is an amazing turn around when I bought rF2 back in 2013.

Anyone else noticing the home screen of the rF2 launcher not showing any information? Is it just me, or can I start reading too much into things & get excited about the new web based launcher/UI/Competition system landing soon?

Is 1st gear in 911 GTE (Low drag) car being addressed its virtually unusable as it is. Its so glaringly obvious, yet still not fixed in updates released to date!

    @Christopher Elliott
Since the latest update the game is stuttering especially in turns (ISI Montreal 2000 @ the chicanes).
Before the update everything was smooth and i used aggressive threading which you have disabled in the latest update.
Only turning the circuit details to "low" helps a bit but looks ugly.
I also tried enabling the "use thread" setting in the Controller.json file without any improvement.
    My specs:
    i7-4771 3,5GHZ
    32GB RAM
    SDD
    Nvidia GTX 775m

@Christopher Elliott when you remove the agressive threading, or lets say work in the Video Setup, can you fix also the embarrassing changing info of Video Driver Information?

I've never used aggressive threading but I noticed stuttering yesterday @ Brianza 10k in the historics. Hadn't had this issue before this update.
