All the simulators simulate the deformation of the tire, but only some show it graphically.

Nope. No rF1 based simulators simulate deformation of tire since there is no rotating tire simulated in rF1 engine, it's all just mathematical slip equations. AC also doesn't simulate a rotating tire as it uses a rather similar approach as rF1, not sure about ACC. Actually it's much harder to simulate something like tire flex accurately than to make it show in graphics. The precision required in the physics simulation is much higher than a graphical model requires.

kunos has said many times that the deformation of the tire is present in the physics of AC1.

I once was told rf1 has tire deformation as well, just not shown on graphics

AC had tire flex but not visually, they added that for ACC.

Hm fair enough, I guess it depends how you define deformation. I found an answer from Kunos dev in this post. However, I still think the real reason why it's not in graphics is because AC isn't simulating deformation of a rotating physical tire, it's still a bunch of approximated mathematical equations. With rF2 approach once you have the physical tire simulated it becomes trivial to show it in graphics, it's all connected together. In AC (and ACC) cars are not using physical tire models, so whatever is shown in graphics is "faked".

    Yes you could:
    Code:
    if lateral load inwards
      show tyre flexing outwards
    if lateral load outwards
      show tyre flexing inwards
    if load downwards
      show tyre bulging

Job done. I start work for ISI next week :D
Yes, that's what I was trying to say.

V1.0.2 downloaded yesterday so I gave it a try in VR and... I had fun! With ASW forced to 45 and the engine.ini hacks the graphics were OK (still have double vision in replays for some reason) and the handling took a little getting used to (in particular I learned that you have to treat the curbs with caution) but it was no longer a complete waste of money. I even enjoyed Zolder which became a technical challenge rather than a Mickey Mouse bore.

That's a good one! SMS said they were most realistic simulator.
They can say anything but the BS stops when you put rubber to the road.

If you hear "realistic simulator" and "home pc" in one sentence- you know its a lie

You can see how AC tires get on the road when they should deform.

As I said back, from what I understand all the simulators do, although visually it is not there.
It is something not appreciable live, there are more important things than this aspect.

You can feel exactly what AC is missing when you compare FXX's.

I didn't think that was allowed in the workshop?

    Credits:
    3D model:Kunos based
    Physics:RSTR Mods

Idk who rsrr are, and i don't care. But i am sure if i will ever create a mod mswtoiletracing ferrari, with handling wich i like more than original(licensed), someone will believe my version of Ferrari is better than Kunos one :)

Good to know. I just did some workshop ripped content search and you're right. Is a surprise to me.
But there is something missing from AC's physics. Real cars don't just go into a ice skid the way AC does.
ACC is way better so they know AC has a problem.

I did buy MotoGP 19 on the weekend as reports are Milestone have made a decent game; and the reports are correct :)

I can also report MotoGP 19 runs like a dream with 32 bikes in wet conditions at ultra settings.

Interestingly, Milestone have seperate settings for reflections, shadows, depth of field, motion blur, particle effects etc whereas some of these settings are grouped in ACC.

I hold out hope that Kunos can unlock more performance in ACC.
