    I saw this whole show (Jaguar at Le Mans 1954-58) on free to air TV a few years back (7mate, for you Australians who wanted to know but couldn't guess which station).
    I might buy it from Duke one day

    Not exactly the car in the spotlight of 1954, but in 90minutes there will be live streaming from Goodwood David Coulthard onboard from 300SL, starting from pole position with 1'37'0 laptime, hopefully they all can actually go faster.

    don't mean to monkey wrench anything but could the old ISI Panoz be dumbed down & added into a group like this ? I hadn't driven it in years, (turns out to be fun at the Goodwood) it does have a cool look, but it handles too well as is. interesting to think if S397 will update it with some tires & a race version any time soon. & no, I don't even know how to dev mode.

    I would think it would be better served by someone making an expanded mod of it, rather than adding it to the '54 set. Though perhaps I'm not quite gathering what you're suggesting? From memory it was a fun drive. I don't remember what tuning options were available, but no doubt someone could create some modified engines and a bunch of race liveries

    This 2L car from Italy is nice :)
    It has just gone through the windscreen and passenger seat cover phase

    Now that we're closing in on a release I'll again put out a call for:
    >> Anyone who is interested in doing some testing of these cars, please send me a PM <<
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    We have a couple of folks already, and almost all they need to do is drive whichever cars they like and tell us what they think of them, and compare them to any of the other cars. It's helpful to drive them at Le Grand Circuit (speed/endurance) and Goodwood (handling), but there is no limit on which tracks to try. It might also be helpful for the tester to set up a couple of long time-accelerated races for the AI to check on their durability and fuel consumption - eg 30-60 laps at Le Grand Circuit. You can park a camera on pit-straight and just watch the cars whiz by in fast-time and note how many laps they're doing before pitting, or if anyone blows an engine or retires with brake failure.
    and:
    The green cars with the fins now look a lot more like I had hoped.
    I've been improving my 3dsMax FFD techniques and am now getting better results in an easier way but more computationally heavy way, so I re-modded it :D
    2019-05-19_20h33_21.jpg
    And HEY!
    I would be thrilled if some sort of community fun online race could be held with these when they're ready.
    I'm thinking something like 2.4hrs of cautious, considerate, & courteous multi-class lapping of Le Grand Circuit '67.
    While there are no chicanes on Le Grand Circuit's back straight, there would be a few small blue cars doing ~130kph which would need to be avoided at a 100-170kph speed differential! So yes, cautious, considerate, & courteous :D
    it's totally valid to drive these sorts of things at modern silverstone, btw :)
    other places are also totally appropriate :)
    I guess it's something like a 65th anniversary coming up. I'd like to release these before the weekend of the 15th/16th, but it's probably more likely they'll be ready sometime later in the month.
    I've been doing some more body adjustments and working on the headlights a little bit.
    Here are some dark screenshots to suggest mystery and the unknown, or something like that
    It's Le Mans week!
    Try a pre-release of the 1954 Endurance update :)
    Unsub from Steam version if it's installed.
    Final public update version will be updated on Steam when ready (sometime after race week).
    v1218 - Public Pre-Release - 65th Anniversary Edition :D
    [link removed because file was deleted when updating to the next version]
    Fully functional except that the menu icons haven't been fully updated, and wheelbase and track width aren't properly applied in the spinner/showroom (related to original encrypted mas?).
    - Physics have been significantly developed by @mantasisg , starting from the limited initial weight/inertia/gears/engines changes I made.
    - AI have been tweaked by @mantasisg
    - Several evocative body meshes have been pushed and pulled from the original 427 Cobra mesh (and some added parts like fairings and fins).
    - Additional headlights.
    - Slightly modified Cobra driver model and new helmet/goggles, with some specific helmet colours.
    - Sounds tweaked to lengthen audible distance, and louder backfires, and some other minor changes.
    - Classes implemented (s8.0, s5.0, s3.0, s2.0, s1.5, s1.1, s0.75) for opponent selection and results classification.
    - UI Menu listing changed (1954 Endurance) and sub-categorised by class (icons not yet updated).
    - Not using new PBR livery materials, or wet body/wind screen system.
    Feedback welcome, though we would probably only make quick, small changes from now on.
    Special thanks to @mantasisg for reviving my motivation on this mod, and for making a huge difference to the driving :)
    ----------------------------------------------------
    Thanks ISI & Studio 397 for the AC Cobra 427, which is the physics and graphics basis of this 1954 mod.
    Thanks redapg for the Online Tools used for initial physics changes.
    Thanks Nibo for the rF2 Log Analyzer.
    Thanks Yoss for some initial help and tips.
