Hi guys, I have fired up RF2 again after a long while and have downloaded the awesome BTCC NGTC mod. The hope is to run some kind of BTCC inspired offline league against the AI. Is there a way to manually edit the grids offline so that for example after a qualifying session I can go in and swap the order around? I know it can be done online via batch files but is there a way to do it for offline races without having to set up an online server and fill it with AI drivers? To be able to add ballast would also be fantastic but at the moment I would settle for just being able to set the grids up.
Im not sure if this is what you need but i Think if you start alone (without AI) and then when on track you can through the menu add whatever cars you want.
Thanks yeah I get how to add and boot drivers once in the race session, what I want is to be able to edit the grid order before the race and decide who starts 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc. Is there a way to do this for offline play?
Well I might want to reverse a number of drivers or set the starting lineup in the order based on the results of the previous race
@Chris Hill ok, makes sense. I'll take a look at the plugin interface and see if it works offline (been a while since I played with it), though if you want to get the best flexibility it's oddly best to run a server for your offline racing (it also allows the cpu to handle the AI on a separate core).
@Lazza Thanks. How do I set up a server for offline racing? Tried doing it via the dedicated server option but can never see the one I set up in the list so am unable to join
Thanks, Have tried setting up a dedicated server via the launcher. I have then made a new shortcut, and assigned multiplayer/port number but how do i know which port number/IP to use as the shortcut target. All I see at the moment is the screen below
If you didn't have set another Port or a password to join the server, the addition (bold) should work '..\Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\Launcher\Launch rFactor.exe" +multiplayer +connect="127.0.0.1:64297'.
Thanks @Bernd it worked! I am now able to create batch files to make custom starting grids, add success ballast etc. Love it! Thank you
@Bernd i don't understand how can modify the grid order for offline race. I would like to make a F4 Champinship and for the race 2 of each GP i need to change the order of the 10 first driver of the grid
