WELL! That's interesting S397 Looking at ayrtonforever problem I check the Porsche I had finished and added to a Mas for sharing. I just went to look at it and it worked the first time so I refreshed it as ayrtonforever has describe and my Porsche defaulted back to the original one. Tried a refresh, Tried re-starting rF2 but the default stayed. So I investigated the textures in the Mas and they are all gone!!! The Mas is empty! Skin, Region, Window, json, All GONE!! You've got a real problem with this pack. I hope you don't release any more cars with this before this is sorted out fully.
i saw now that if i add the windows file in the mas with the mas editor and delete it from the folder it works. I released my skin on rd, hope anything is ok now
Why is the json file the only one with it's file type in the name? Why don't the others have .dds at the end? edit: I can never understand why file extensions would want to be turned off. Maybe that's how people get viruses etc, they don't know what they're clicking on. Just a thought.
i confirm, last night i released the skin on rd because even clicking several times on reload everything seemed ok. this morning i realize that the banner is gone again ... there is something wrong with the mas file management system. can someone try to download it and install it to test if the same thing happens? https://www.racedepartment.com/down...rst-motorsport-36-v0-9-material-system.25237/
Excuse me, I just read it now. This is not an rFactor issue. Go to your Windows folder options into tab "view". There you have to change the setting "Hide extensions for known file types" (uncheck the checkbox) and you will see all file extensions (not only in rFactor2)
Why are you trying to explain to me something I already, obviously by my post, know about. His screenshot, to me, looks like he has file extensions hidden and somehow has named the json "alt_M6.json.json"
Oh I'm sorry, I misunderstood you and thought you had a problem with the file extensions. So just ignore it ...
Does someone know, when the automatically generated MAS file will be updated? Which action is causing it? Refeshing in showroom? Opening the material editor? I'm asking because if you manually update the MAS file with DDS files for e.g. helmet, driversuit, etc. there is a point where rF2 rebuilds the MAS file and deletes the "unwanted" DDS files. And this is what i want to avoid.
As I know, rF2 won't delete "unwanted" files (like your "...EXTRA.dds") If you press "Reload" in showroom, it will refresh the JSON, Main.dds and the Region.dds, nothing else.
It's deleting the Window DDS as well. I've told Chris (S397) what's going on and their working on it. It is truly annoying what's happened but we need to be patient. Clearly "not" a easy fix.
Realy? I've tested it with the BMW and nothing heappend. After refresh the MAS includes all manually added files.
Talking out of the Mas file. Not the open files. But to share skins it's recommended to use only Mas, No open files. This isn't working correctly. In fact if you reload a car that has only the Mas in the folder it will delete "all" the Mas comments leaving you with a empty Mas and a default livery. WHY!! I want share skins at this time!
I understand. So at this time the only way is to make a package. But this makes no sense for one skin...
I'm trying to put some stickers on the glass of the windshield in the Audi, but they don't appear in game. there's something I'm wrong?
