I can not change the banner above the windshield of any car. I followed the correct procedure, saving the DDS5 file with the name alt_myskin_windows, but this is never inserted into the mas file. I also tried to enter it manually with the mas editor but it is not accepted. where can I find a tutorial to change windows? for the skins with the new material system of course
try alt_myskinwindow. (no undersore between car file name and window) However I keep finding odd problems with the windows too
It's WINDOW Not WINDOWS. No S on the end. The ones I've played with all work fine bar the glass area on the Audi.
To be fair I can't get this to work either. Looks OK initally, then defaults to a blank one when I create a virtual ride, so something missing in the documentation (and I use the format that I typed above). Still can't seem to get an answer on how to best to report bugs, seems really scattergun or have to tag someone from s397.
Do you know the right name of the gloves for the new GT3 cars or is it impossible to skin this part at this time? I've tried to add helmet, suit and gloves but the gloves didn't work. I named it "***EXTRA1.dds" to "...EXTRA9.dds" but nothing happend...
At First: Make sure, that you have created a virtual ride (klick "create" in the showroom an fill in the fields) second: Make sure, that you have selected the new created folder third: put your skin and the window-skin into this folder ("alt_blabla.dds" & "alt_blablawindow.dds") forth: press Reload and toggle VARIANTS arrow to select your skin ...ready!
Wasn't there something with WINDOWIN and WINDOWOUT to make it work ? For some Mods just WINDOW don't work as the game don't know if its the inside or outside of the window But I'm not sure myself atm
Take the _ out. Write it altmyskinwindow . The only place you need to use _ is alt_region I have had no trouble with the Porsche and Audi. Haven't yet tried the BMW or Aston but not expecting any trouble with them. Will work if you write it like this, myskin_alt.DDS, myskin_altWindow.DDS, myskin_alt_region, myskin_altjson
Thanks that was the information needed. I had the window in the same directory as the other files before creating the variant and assumed it would get picked up. No it doesn't. Your approach works
just tried, doesn't works I'm starting to think that the problem could be in the file. how do you add your banner? on a new level? where's is it placed? the file must be DXT5 interpolated alpha?
last week also tried tu put a working windows file from a skin downloaded from racedepartment in teh folder of my skin of the Audi, this is what appened: my skin without windows file: same skin with the workin windows file: at this point could it be an error in one of the other two files, skin or region?
Hi guys, for the Aston, gloves and suit are "alt_nameEXTRA8 and 9" "alt_nameDRIVER", textures are a little strange but it's OK For front window "alt_nameWINDSHIELDOUT" and rear and side windows "alt_nameWINDOWSOUT" I just miss rims for a complete skin grrrrrrrrrr. i have done a step forward: I managed to see the banner in the showroom, with the name alt_myskinnamewindow, but as soon as I click on reload it disappears again, as if the mas file did not accept it ... I do not know what to think anymore .... befor after
i'm going crazy now i have this situation in the folder: and two cars in the showroom, each one use the alt_M6.dds and the other the alt_M6window.dds...why???
same happened to me - at this point i could do what i want - it didnt worked for me... so i did a complete new approach... Created a completely new "direct" - than made a new team and copied my thre files into it... and than it worked! like explained here in this thread
