I have much lower specs, especially the graphics card which is a humble 1050 Ti and I manage around 80 fps on max settings.

Why 90 fps? For VR? I don't think any available hardware is capable to run RF2 with max settings @90 fps in VR. But I don't know. If you want to play with that monitor at 3440*1440@100hz, you should be ok, maybe not with graphics maxed out full.

No VR. I just want to able run smoothly without stuttering/glitching/reduced ai/fps drop/changing settings(such as shawdows and lighting). I want to able to run good with a constant 90 fps (or at the very least 80 with my specs). I just want to be able to not have any problems when I buy the parts.

    @Dpi44
if you experience any stuttering with this hardware then its not the hardware
log into game and see if everything runs smooth with zero stuttering
if you see stuttering i ll tell you what to do
1.go to control panel >system>Power&sleep>additional power settings> choose high performance
    2.install cpu core parking manager 3 (http://coderbag.com/Programming-C/CPU-core-parking-manager-v3)
set core parking manager to high performance and let it load when windows starts its a must have program for any game that stutters

Maybe you would have to set postprocessing to mid or high and lower the shadows. I have 1080/8GB with 5940*1080@60hz, vsync on. Shadows mid, PP mid, rain effects high, most other settings at max, but 15 ai only. Fps never drop below 60 except in rainy night conditions. I7 5820K, 32 GB RAM

I suppose that with 80 FPS on GTX 1050 Ti you don't refer to Sebring start grid with 20 GT3 AI cars.

It's always important to give the context in which you want to reach X amount of FPS. Some people here like to add 50 AI cars, rain and night conditions and I can guarantee there is no GPU that runs the game maxed @ 90 FPS under those conditions. But with more modest conditions and max settings, an RTX 2080 should mostly do the job for 1440p ultrawide resolution. Actually the only more powerful card available is the RTX 2080 Ti, which is around 30% better, but with night+rain it may not be a constant 90 FPS even on that card.

Dont know about that cpu but with my specs i run 60FPS locked smoothly at all times with basically max settings at 3x1080p.

Yes 1080, albeit single screen and no VR.

Correct, I usually don't race around such a demanding track and my grids are usually only 18 to 20 cars. I also didn't take rain into consideration, but then again it was more of a rough comparison and not a proper benchmark, which is hard to be meaningful anyway because people tend to use vastly different configurations and content.

Asking if an RTX 2080 is good enough xD Well, unless you're trying to run 3x 4K screens... Then you might need two cards :D I have a 970, so a two generations old mid-range card. It's starting to struggle a little with greater grids on certain tracks with everything maxed out on 1080p... But a 2080 will not have any trouble unless it's paired with a pentium 4 or something.

Should get 90FPS if its 1 monitor. With 3 monitors, max Graphics, full grid and Heavy track... Not sure. Might dip here and there. I havent actually looked how high my FPS goes so far. If its 60 and not dipping - i dont care. :D Letting the FPS rip and if it goes high then the card and the computer get so damn hot that i feel its unnecessary. I am a Little scared of the newer monitors though since they are min 75hz... What if i cant get it above 75FPS... Maybe they have some Tech though like G-SYNC or similar to have smooth experience even under 75FPS.

Some graphic options have huge impact on FPS when maxed out without giving noticeable improvements (don't remember on top of my head)

    All have performance problems?
My gamer PC is a AMD 8350 (pure crap), nvidia 1070, 16GB ram DDR3 and I can run the game all in high/ultra at 60fps constants at 1080x1920.
A little odd solution, make a fresh install. ;)

    Mate my machine is:
    Intell i7 4770k @4.5 GHz
    16 GB DDR3 G.Skill
    Galax 1070 Exoc stock
    Res: 1440p everything on High

I think this is a good indication of my typical performance whilst also recording to the same machine.

So I don't think you'll have any issues.

I have no issues, but then again it took a burning of my wallet to get there. :D
