Hi guys to everybody, i'm working on a mod based on skipbarber. i change everything, .pmfiles, chassis.ini file, hdv and the car seems work ok. only one issues that i can not explain to myself. all the time i change the ride height in garage, it changes on track with a different amount and in the wrong way. i better explain: if i rise up the front ride height of 10mm, it will go down about 2. i check this value with the ctrl+D and motec plugin. anyone can help me with this? thanks
That’s because the garage display and motec display of ride hieghts don’t match up, stupid concept from isi blame Tim
Ah ok...understood. But why in ctrl+D mode in dev mode i have the same issuse? And why move in opposite way? I think there is a problem in my chassis or hdv file so i want to an
I ran into that several years ago (literally? ) with the iDT Champ Car mod on rF1. Made changes to undertray heights, etc. The math indicated it bottomed out with an inch to spare. Than I played with the graphics files, but pretty much forgot how it all works over the last 10 years or so. I recall deleting a shadow artifact cured the "phantom extension" of the car. As rF2 is pretty much undocumented in any sort of reasonable structure for modding I'm not going to try to figure out quirks like that anymore.
Thanks John for for your your . The strange thing is that on the graphic is ok, there is no touching. From the data the car works correctly, on braking and turning. I will check again my susp data to find where is is problem, but if anybody had the same issue and will help me to find the issue will be very appreciate
some things to take in mind: - be sure that tire radium is perfectly accurate with the .tgm into the .tbc - taking skipbarber car as base, you will see that there more than one way to declare suspension travel. Be sure you are using it right - finally check the minimum packers setting
Hi Damian, The tyre i'm sure are right because i check with the ptool and it match perfectly. About suspension travel i recalculate all, from file suspension.pm to chassis.ini and seems ok, also the packer setting. I have no idea where to check to find the issue. Thanks everybody for the help
The original skip barber works properly? Then you have made a mistake somewhere for sure. But without to have your modified files, nobody can seriously help you with the problem. And what exactly do you mean with ' i change everything, .pmfiles, chassis.ini file, hdv...'? Have you edited the files by hand? That works for the pm (which is not in use with the skip barber btw), but not in every case for the chassis.ini and some entries of the hdv file.
If you are using chassis.ini suspension.pm is not needed, you can delete it safety. Another important thing to check that I forgot to mention before is: If you are using "CorrectedInnerSuspHeightAll=.......", comment the line and try with "CorrectedInnerSuspHeight=-1" to see if it change anything.
Yes the original skipbarber works properly. Yes i change the files with the parameters of the original car with the help of the spreadsheet Tomorrow i will post the files, it will be easy check deeper all the parameters bbecause i did it several times but for me it's ok Thanks in advance to anyone who will help me
HI again guys, here below you can find the link to the hdv, chassis.ini and the file of the tire i'm using. thanks again for your help https://mega.nz/#F!aeABCaiD!2wNjtLgPPzxO9VifhLOjpQ
Thanks for the files, that makes things easier to find the wrong parts. Just a hint: when you edit files by hand, check it thorough and ensure that you use proper entries and that you know what you are doing. It seems as if the problem is caused by a typo. You use 'BumpStopTravel=' but it has to be 'BumpStopTravels=' And you, for example, have the entry 'CGHight=0.25'. That is wrong format. 'Hight' has to be 'Height' And the proper format is CGHeightRange=... CGHeightSetting=... I didn't check the whole files, but i would suspect that there are more things improper/wrong.
I used to use a text editor that would let you compare lines of text. I would compare the left front to the right front and ensure the only differences were the + or - symbols. An then the same for the two rear sections.
Thank you Bernd, it will help me a lot. yes i need to pay attention on this. thanks again for your help.
