Coming from this topic: https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/did-we-all-miss-some-announcements.61781/page-2 I think is a good idea to have this kind of thread, where we can post and discuss any RF2 news related. It can be used to post news from social media, other webs&forums, or even WIP mods (or releases) that are not covered in the oficial forums. Hope you like this.
https://twitter.com/rFactor2/status/1072169605752414210 https://twitter.com/rFactor2/status/1072876314825084928 Porsche 911 GT3 and BMW M6 GT3 coming. PS: i can't find a way to insert a tweet
So there will be at least two more cars, because it say "cars" there, not "car" haha. Also dangerously asking for wishlisting, I am personally backing my horses back in terms of wishlisting, because I'd go out of modern gt context. Some really kool screens included there
While this is a good idea, I'm quite saddened by the fact that this is now required in the Official forums. Discord just seems like an endless rambling mess (or maybe I'm missing something) A sign of the times I suppose. Just not one I'm particularly happy with. Cars and pics do look rather good.
One of the good things of the forums is that anyone can create the thread announcing the Twitter or Discord news
Some people doesn't use FB, some doesn't use Twitter, some doesn't use Discord.... Though some people doesn't use this forum Forums IMO is the main thing. Social networks are distraction, though they are good for publicity.
Now we need to get this as sticky, otherwise it will get lost. BTW, I don't know what's RD Paul's source but he said it's a 4 car pack so take a wild guess on the other 2
Sorry for the confusion, English is not my first language. I wanna mean discussion about "oficcial news", only that is not an "official thread" since it's not done by Studio397. About the GT's...i find it to be a great news, because a lot of people like those cars but...not me especially. I really wish more Touring Car content, or Historic (or both). I've been taking part in online championships since 2007 (although not right now) and i found that those 2 type of cars provoke the greatest fun, together with little powered open wheels like Formula BMW, F-Vee, Formula 3...
So since unofficial news, is kind of like speculation In the Marshall Pruett IndyCar Podcast with Mark Miles, some questions were dealt with eSports and an Indycar game. Mark Miles says they currently have 4 licensees. Forza was the only one mentioned by name (quote: "From high end simulator opportunities to drive IndyCar to Forza which was mentioned to others"). He also goes into how Indycar is exploring that eSports market, but will wait and see how to go forward. Weather it will be used more of a promotional tool or to an actual eSports league. So Forza, Iracing are for sure on that list with the 2018 chassis. PCARS2 has the 2016 models, not the 2018. I can't think of the other game, or two games if you do not include PCARS2, that include Indycar. So my speculation. With prior experience with Indycar with the DW12, and the first USF2000. Now current Indycar connections with the Tatuus USF2000 and Pro Mazda confirmed. When S397 releases their competition system, it'll include the IndyCar 2018. That would provide a natural open wheel ladder. That will also be a highlight for S397 as well to promote. Now really grasping for straws. It might explain the sudden disappearance of the mod. The competition system was announced/possibly an original release date was very close to when the mod was up shortly and then taken down. With the delays on the comp system, the mod its self has been silent.... Here is a link to the MP Podcast Episode. The eSports is at 36min to 40min marks https://marshallpruett.podbean.com/e/mp-435-the-week-in-indycar-dec-11-with-series-ceo-mark-miles/
