With a DD wheel, it can keep going round and round, right? Obviously a formula car with 520 degree steering range needs a stop, so rF2 uses "Steering Wheel Bump Stop Harshness" to be the stop. The number you put in there determines how abrupt, how harsh, how strong the stop is. Do you want the steering stop to be like hitting a wall or will it be like a pillow?

    Hi

Was great to see “ SimSteering “ in the options I thought I’d give it a try, it results in zero ffb , I also had to calerbrate it (turning left & right ) tried to reset ffb using the default key & rebooting etc & still doesn’t work

Is it because I have SimSteering version 2??

If so the new option should say v1

@philman The size doesn't mean much, they could change a single hardcoded letter (text string) in the .exe and have that much to download because there's the single and mod mode .exe for both 32- and 64-bit.

Hi, just a short question, do we need to opt-in to a beta to get the latest version?

    No. You have to opt-out.

Is this true? I thought beta-branch means you always get the latest version and NOT have to permanently monitor the game progress and have to opt-out of every version as soon as a newer one exists just to opt-in the newer one...!?

With default Steam settings your game will automatically be updated.

Okay thanks. It’s strange though, in most Steam games it’s different. The devs normally ALWAYS deploy the latest version into the beta-branch. Here it doesn’t make much sense...

It’s quite simple my friend, rf2 isn’t in beta, so no neeeeeeeeeed
Although you could say in some aspects it’s actually still in the alpha stage of development

when rF2 first came to steam it didn't had anything in the beta tab, so nothing to opt in, or out off. However, certain leagues had particular issues with some updates (think mainly stuff for endurance racing if I remember), making those leagues run older versions of the game. The members that had switched to steam allready than couldn't join anymore after a game update, so therefor it was requested here if S397 (or ISI back than), could place older versions of the game under the beta tab, so that those who needed an older game version, could still use it ;)

but like you were told above my post, opting out is indeed the latest (public) version of the game

If we're going to be this impatient and talk forever about UI, I think the best way forward is to headhunt that Ilya Content Manager guy to strip and rebuild the launcher and that'll be the 2nd AC modder we took away from the AC community

IMO, two of the best UI out there was in fact by 3rd parties - Content Manager for AC and that simple text one for rF1 that used to be downloadable on NoGrip - I rather anything that doesn't drag my FPS down and is straightforward to navigate without taking too much time to load (AMS) to fancy graphics that'll date easily and look horrible on newer monitors (rF1) and no BS lift murzak (Arcade Cars and 2)

Aside from that one, we should see how many AC modders S397 could add to the workforce
