With the recent previews of the URD 1997 GT1 class, they mentioned that the Panoz GT1 is not on their to do list. An updated Panoz GT1 will be needed! The PCARS2 version looks great, but is behind that first DLC paywall so I never tried it and only saw it via youtube
Because of rF2´s advanced tire model I would be extremely interested in a realistic(!) version of the orig(!) DeltaWing car. A modder has allready produced a beautiful looking version for rF1 but has more or less refused to respond to any questions conserning a rF2 version. Beside the unusual design of the RL DeltaWing car there is some pretty advanced physical features that theoretical should make this car competitive against cars with about the double HP. Most people does respond to this by believing this is only because its possible to make such a 3 wheeled (principally) car lighter and more aerodynamic efficient. But thats not correct! Digging deeper in the thought behind the creating of the DeltaWing concept by mainly the car physics guru Ben Bowlby then its obvious that one of the biggest advantages with such an alternative design is the possibility to both turn the car DEEP into a corner and brake at the same time without destroying/upsetting the rotation movement like in a 4 wheeled car. The reason for this behaviour is that the car has only 1 (double) front wheel in the geometrical neutral middle that can transfer enormously brake power WITHOUT upsetting the mentioned rotation movement - and thereby making the car extremely understeering. If this special carphysic could be realised in rF2 then this car could compete in mixed carclasses with cars way over its own virtual HP. If a talented modder or better Studio 397!! (do you hear me?) could be made interested then the sim guru Niels Heusinkveld in 2012 made a video series about "Building a DeltaWing type car (physics) for rFactor".
Near my town a race is held every year during the village festivities. It is called "Carrilanas de Esteiro" and it is a descent without an engine with cars mainly made of wood. It would be fun to see something like that in rFactor 2.
As the DeltaWing was an Indycar concept (that the DW-12 won), I was thinking if one made it to rF2, to paint the Indycar skins on it and see what that would look like.
Eventhough you are correct that the DeltaWing was intended for the IndyCar series the target was changed to participate in both the Petit Le Mans and the real 24 Hours of Le Mans race. Because the behaviour of the car surpassed most of the initial expectations. And eventhough it was only accepted in 24H LeMans as a Garage 56 car the plan was to later let it compete as a LMP1/LMP2 car.
