Hmmm no idea...All I can suggest is verify on steam that you're running the latest build of rF2 (opt out of betas).
I took the screen from google just to show you, lol And it's not Dev mode. It's also in single player
krusti ! absolutely correct. I used another old UI and it was blocking the line. Man...I'm grateful to ALL you guys. Good catch krusti !!!
If you set the overall at 70% and the track specific at 70% and let the AI do a couple of laps then note the lap times. Then jump out and change the track specific to 110% leaving overall at 70% and let the AI do a couple of laps is there a difference in the lap times? If you test this just check to see what the session menu says while at the track in both cases.
@JimmyT @Highlandwalker In fact i just did a similar test just to make sure i wasn't crazy and car/track specific settings DOES override game settings difficulty. Here are the results: Car: Renault Megane Trophy Track: Botniaring Long Practice session of 20 minutes with 20 AI. Scenario 1: Session settings AI difficulty: 100 (shows 100 in the settings tab) Car/Track specific AI difficulty: 70 AI fastest lap: 2:02.932 Scenario 2: Session settings AI difficulty: 100 (shows 100 in the settings tab) Car/Track specific AI difficulty: 120 AI fastest lap: 1:34.467 Feel free to try with any car/track
I have used the Car/Track specific setting as a reminder for the car and track combo I want to use and set the session setting to this. The use of it this way is useful because different car and track combos have varying AI strength. If it does change the AI lap times and it shows the AI setting that you set in the Session Setting in the tab and the lap times are different, it's right pain in the ass. I will try your test tomorrow and will let you know the results. I apologise now if I was wrong with my earlier post and if I have mislead any body.
I think it does make perfect sense. The track specific value overrides whatever is set in the session settings. Think of the session settings value as a global one and then a more specific one is applied for the track if user has it set. With this function, you only have to adjust AI strength once for each track, and next time you load the track it will automatically use the correct ones.
Yeah, no worries. I started using car/track specific settings for the same reason as you, until i realized the hard way a few times that it overrides the game settings value. Whenever i start a race I still set both values the same just because what i don't know yet is which value the game takes when resuming from replay....I might test that another day
Wow...I'm glad you guys have confirmed this is possible track specific. I'm glad I brought it up because it can be helpful to all of us and, very importantly, can be used "optionally". Someone who doesn't want to use it doesn't have to. Great!
I tried your test and can confirm you absolutely correct with your findings and thanks. I had the same result as you with a different car track combo. We're always learning something new about RF2 which keeps the interest going. I apologise again for the incorrect info in my earlier post.
