Thanks for this track. Very funny and I find that it is quite light in the use of PC resources.

It's great that S397 added another free track. Too bad S397 still haven't included a track map in the hud (like every other game already has), it would be really useful for learning unknown tracks like Botniaring.

Christopher, perhaps you can address something for me? At the moment the UI simply notifies us what class each car is, but with the new interface, will you be categorizing this via colour, similar to how PC2 does it? This is a much needed addition and I hope you haven't overlooked it.

Could you perhaps shed some light on what has happened since the UI was very close to beta release in August 2017 and until now? Did you decide to start all over (And if that is the case - why?) or how can it be so delayed?

I'm generally all for options, but a sim doesn't need a track map. It shouldn't take more than 5-10 laps to learn anything up to 20-30 corners on a track, certainly well enough that you're then better off concentrating on the track in front of you than what you can see on some trackmap on the side. This cautious finding your way around and slowly building to the limit is a skill, and one that can be learnt. It's actually one of my favourite things about trying new tracks, because once you've learnt most of the major tracks you rarely get to do it anymore.

(not putting down the trackmap plugin, which did have a trackmap but also a host of other information that is still lacking in the game)

track map is really handy when you want to check where is everyone, helpful during re-entry or yellow flag etc. I dont use it to learn a track :p

Some people dont think about all the possibilities, dont worry about them mate ;)
Track maps are also extremely usefull in multiclass, especially when you are in a pit window

I don't need a track map. But in race cars sometimes there is a static one inside the car (without visualizing the positions of the Competitors).
For me it's enough to listen to the spotter and using the mirrors like in reality

    Take it easy mate.

I too used trackmap's actual map when at the monitor, to judge when to leave the pits.

Bear in mind the post I replied to (I mean, really, go and read it), and the fact I said it doesn't need a track map.

Fair call on the multiclass and pit windows generally (while in car), since we don't have race engineers to do it for us, but a trackmap per se may not be the best option there either, as it can be difficult to judge time gaps on it.

In iracing the relative time display showed you how close the cars were around you, it changed the colours of the timings of cars that are lapped or cars of a different class, that’s all that’s needed to give you the information you need, s397 could just easily add to what we have now and problem solved

Then when they are able to allow plugins again add track maps for those that want it

The dynamic line with car positions is more than useful to tell how cars are positioned. I don't remember now which button activates it. Also using the map to learn tracks while driving is just a bad habit.

Next thing, I speculate that Reiza content is on hold because of new materials.
