*sim racing game that do not compromise car physics Btw, i believe if they dont compromise something, cars would be unplayable. But how much is it acceptable should be the question
I can not vote, because i think it is possible, but not necessarily for me. I guess the poll is meant in that way, that both use the simulation, right?
I already wrote 2000 words text about simracers and real life races, but then I remembered that these thread are like cancer in any sim racing forums and deleted all the text because I dont want to deal with this shit... Answer is: Of course it's possible. It's also possible to beat Bolts WR in 100m race. Is it going to happen in next 5 year? Maybe not. In 50 years? Definitely We are all humans after all. Even the best sim racing aliens and best F1 drivers makes mistakes. There is always somebody that can beat you, till we are somekind of androids. Also could you make bit more clear what you are asking in poll. Im sure answer "Yes I am" is not the answer you are looking for.
If we go at the same time and i have 5 years in that sim and he drives for the first time ever in that same sim.
Some people will always believe that the only reason they aren't in F1 is because they weren't rich. They can drive a dumbed down car in a simulator, so they are driving gods. I mean, some person named Niki Lauda (never heard of her) tried a Jaguar F1 and couldn't stop spinning. But keyboard warrior can do better for sure. http://www.atlasf1.com/news/2002/jan/report.php/id/6215/.html
I've made several mistakes in this poll . I should have made a poll before for the best way to make the question of this poll. A true english speaker to make it clear and not generalize the genre. Choose one sim (rf2) and ask if people believe that he can be faster than Ayrton Senna in Interlagos using the new Mclaren and not questioning about sim realism. Like you car will be put virtually in the track with a real mclaren and a f1 driver. But the ship has sailed. Lets watch it sinking
"Do you think is it possible be quicker than a professional racer in a sim racing game* ?" Sure, sim racing is a skill.
This poll is confusing. Sim racing is a different sport than real racing. In sim racing you feel the limit mostly with visual feedback and little bit of FFB, in real car you feel the limit with G forces. Two totally different things, even if car physics can be simulated to be the same. So a veteran sim racer will be quicker in a sim car and a veteran real racer in a real car, most of the time.
Warning - macabre joke ahead. Sensitive types please bypass this one. Spoiler: joke These days I reckon I could beat Senna just about anywhere.
@stonec What about f1 drivers lap times in simulators and lap times on track? I bet their simulators is the perfection on their vehicle data. And i think they should be faster on track than in sims but pretty much close results
So, should Alonso get better lap times in the simulator? By how much? https://wtf1.com/post/alonso-simulator-video/ *remembering: no gforces, no heat, not physical demanding as in a real f1. Any guesses? **not the kind of simulation i have but still Alonso in a sim https://www.roadandtrack.com/motors...simulator-as-demonstrated-by-fernando-alonso/
Sorry but it's really pointless to compare lap times to real life. Simulators are never perfect and they are not 1:1 with real life condition.
Why do you think they spend a lot on this? No more f1 tests. Obviously they compare with track results.
becuase they dont have any other options as F1 regulations have changed. Of course it helps to learn the track very much. It's not bad thing for teams
But @Postipate do you think aAlonso needs to go in a sim to learn the track? There is much more testing involved on this than learning a speed line, i think
