Is there a mod version of bathrurst that's actually correct / not too bumpy?

Current version makes it impossible for me to do good lap times.
For instance, the downhill at 1:07 cannot be taken at the correct speeds, it seems I need to start it at 140-150 otherwise the non-existent-in-real-life bump (that is there on the rf2 version of the track) will upset my rear end and I'll just crash.

That's just one example. The track overall is too bumpy, something not seen in real life.

The track has been resurfaced in the downhill section after skyline a few years ago , track times can’t be compared really but are not that badly wrong in you run the GTE and compare to last years 12hr times in same class . I find the 3rd party version a bit quicker than older converts

It is possible to do fast lap times. It just takes balls. Lots and lots of balls. And Sisu. But mostly balls.

Trick is when you're going through Skyline and the Esses, trust the car and resist the temptation to correct when the steering goes light. Make ANY attempt to correct and you're off so if you're one of these wheel wrestlers you've got to be smooth in that one bit. Also straight line the first two corners of the Esses as much as you can.

Like Bwana said: Bathurst has been resurfaced since that track was made so it is realistic to about 2011 or so although the bumps into Griffin's (turn two) are still there. They did Skyline-Esses first and then did the rest afterwards in about 2015 or something like that. The resurfacing is mainly the reason Scott McLaughlin and Shane Van Gisbergen have done 2:03s and 2:01s in a V8 Supercar and a 650GT3 respectively.

Apex GT3s can do 2:05s no problem, and the FVRFactor mods can do realistic times to the era and 2017 qualifying times.

It CAN be done. At the risk of blowing my own trumpet, the proof is below. Esses onboard at 3:39.

I've also done a guide to the track on my YouTube channel if that's any help. I spend far too much time on the mountain!

You can "see" the bumps in passenger ride videos

It's almost like it goes down the hill, into a dip, up and down. You don't normally get to see that kind of thing.

There's a video of Jason Bright taking Daryl Waltrip round. He absolutely cacks himself.

While watching some videos, i saw a sequence from bathurst and remembered this thread.
Here is the sequence (at 4 min)
    .
It's not the exact corner that you have mentioned, but it shows how easy the rear can get lost. ;)
Maybe you have to change your setup a little bit?
