AMD FX6350 CPU MSI RX 460 GPU 2x4 GB DDR3 Ram Windows 10 64 bit Game is running in 64 bit mode So, the problem is simple. Whenever I shut down RFactor 2, Steam tells me that it's still running. Funny thing is, there is no process relating to RF2 in task manager so I can't even force it shut. Only thing that works is terminating Steam via task manager since I can't exit Steam unless RFactor stops running.
@Christopher Elliott and @krusti as a matter of fact, yes I do. I will keep it turned off from now on. Thanks for the answer, appreciated.
It's a strange app, every day it works differently for me, but i think is important for the wheel to work correctly. I have this issue only if rF2 crash.
In game settings can do everything the software can anyway. I have the centering effects at 0% in profiler and I can set ffb strength and sensitivity in-game as well. So it's no problem to keep it turned off.
I don't get why we need in game wheel profiles,we should just be able to calibrate the wheel and be done with it.
I have this issue as well. Thing is, I prefer killing Steam and rebooting that, than facing the actual roulette of killing the Logitech Profiler, since it may well decide that my wheel gets random settings and inproper calibration. I have this issue every time I shut down rFactor the normal way: Exit in-game, close rFactor 2 Launcher and go back to Steam. If I want to restart the Launcher, the dialog pops up. Is there anyway of dealing with this without disabling the Logitech Profiler? I've only had this in DX11, by the way.
I can confirm that. After exiting rF2 in VR, SteamVR still runs (which is okay, i guess), but seems to block rF2 from closing completely.
There's been a few mini updates to SteamVR this past week so I'd wager a bet that it's at fault, was fine last week.
I have the same issue even without using SteamVR but with the openVR.dll. The problem is, it keeps my GPU away from idle.
Out of interest, have any of you tried turning the Auto Close Launcher option on, found in the Launcher settings page?
I have noticed the same problem, when the mas2.exe is still running. I work in devmode and have the mas tool running to pack, and install modifed mods. Then i want to exit and shut down the launcher and steam. But steam says that rfactor 2 is still running, but it isn't, it's only the mas tool, that i did not shut down. If i shut it down then, steam shuts down too. So it seems as if as long something, that is in the rfactor 2 folder, is in use, steam detects rfactor 2 as still running.
A Google search reveals a lot of Steam Games suffer from this issue, it still happens to me with the aforementioned SteamVR having to be closed first then RF2 "shutsdown". To those without VR what other programs are you running that you use *with* RF2? Whether that's an app, wheel drivers or whatever, try closing them and see if RF2 then "shutsdown" properly.
