I haven't seen anyone reported this, so I don't know whether it is only me. The rearview in BMW M8 GTE is very vague comparing to other cars. It's like 20 years old 640X480 resolution in the rearview. Will it be fixed, or this is designed purposely due to performance ballance?

The update is here but the mirror resolution at M8 is still like we re playing back at 1995...

Is it so hard to fix it?

I did a couple of races in the BMW in VR. The rearview camera was pointing to the right instead of straight back. Is this a known issue?

    Yes, a VR issue.

This is an issue on all the mods in VR. The mirrors default position is hopeless with both cameras and side mirrors.
Every time a new car version is released you have to redo the mirrors also.
Its a know problem and hopefully it will be sorted.

Fortunately its easily resolved with the mirror movement keys.
Just in case you don't have them, these are the common ones.

The controls are your seat movement plus Ctrl/Alt/Shift; it doesn't matter whether you use the left-Shift or right-Shift, it's just Shift.

Shift + seat forwards/backwards tilts all your mirrors left and right.
Shift + seat up/down tilts all your mirrors up and down.

Ctrl + seat forwards/backwards tilts your left mirror left and right.
Ctrl + seat up/down zooms your left mirror in and out.

Alt does the same as above, for the right mirror.

Ctrl+Alt does the same as above, for the centre mirror.

Ctrl+Shift + seat up/down changes 'mirror size' for all mirrors. Looks like an overall zoom of sorts.
(There is a PLR option "Rearview Independent"; I think if you set this to 1 you can use Ctrl+Shift+seat forward/back to adjust the horizontal FOV of the mirrors independently of the vertical)

Alt+Shift + seat up/down physically moves the centre mirror up and down.
Alt+Shift + seat forward/back physically moves the centre mirror left and right.

Thanks for that. It wasn't until we started racing that I realised I couldn't see the car directly behind me!!

Are you sure it's only a vr problem? I had the same issue with a full hd monitor.
    Cheers

Actually, a few others using monitors said they had the same problem with the mirrors / camera - so I suspect it's not just VR-related.

Not trying to be hypercritical, but I just now returned to rF2 (by purchasing the Endurance pack) after being away a couple of years.

It doesn’t exactly make a great initial impression that such an instantly-obvious bug like this blurry low-res rearview thing on the M8 GTE A) Didn’t get noticed to begin with, and B) Still isn’t fixed over a month later.

I know resources are limited and this is a relatively small item (although it certainly hurts the M8 for actual racing), but the M8 GTE isn’t just any car. It’s an rF2 exclusive and is pretty much what got me to buy the Endurance Pack.

I'll have to agree with you there Kondor.
I understand they probably rushed the GTE release for Spa 24hour weekend but as you said, that was over a month ago.

Of course, like pretty much every other car in RF2, it drives incredibly well. I really thought AC had perfect FFB until I came back to RF2.

I honestly think I could use RF2 for actual driver training, with the right car and track. I see they just updated all the GTE's, so maybe this mirror thing got fixed.

I was shocked by the FFB coming directly from AC. I actually got a workout and cars were so lively. Couldnt just pump full throttle, slam brakes, turn late apex and get away with it etc. Had to actually brake properly to take the apex properly or i would be punished and lose time. The FFB i think is also more detailed closer to center wheel. This is why in AC Lotus 49 i can release the wheel going down a straight without the wheel moving violently and steer the car off track. In rF2 i have to hold on for dear life, and its fun as hell - and more realistic.
