Jesus. All the time I spent in sim racing, I was never a big open wheeler fan. I tried the gp3 mod which was good and the F1 mod by Frenky/Franky and it was good, but I came back to the gt cars every time. When I just see these cars.....I guess it's time for a change very well done.
Inside the sim it does say that but the name of the mod on steam is Brabham BT55, at least in my library. I mean it gives impression its just one car.
On steam there is only the BT55, I think... the rest of the cars are in beta. And some aren't even released yet
Oh, thanks for that man. I didnt know there are 2 versions of the car in the mod, superb! Also, the helmet effect using VR is freaking amazing, i literally feel like Gehard Berger right now (only a couple seconds slower of course) lol.
This is turning out to be my favourite car/mod at the moment, very good job, donated some money and by the way, there is a server up using this mod, get on it!
Here is bit teaser of physics I have worked for Lotus 98T If somebody has not seen the original video: Hello! I have started working again with this 1986 mod physics and got lot of progress with BT55 and rest of the cars too. Cars are now much more enjoyable to drive and AI races finally like it should!! Having some great race with this mod (will post video of full field AI race bit later) edit: Just short 5 lap race I recorded. Nothing special in it, but shows how good the AI now drives these cars (lost 2nd place at 5:20 )
Great to see progress being made. We had a race at RD a few weeks back with the 3 cars available and it was tough. Most people chose the BT55 as it is quite predictable, or the Ferrari as it is a blast, but I chose the Benetton because I like a challenge. It was, in a race setting, pretty undrivable. It has the worst understeer of the 3 and it is beyond any remedy of setup to cure the push in slow and medium corners. But it also has the most insane boost oversteer. It adds up to a very tiring drive in a long race. Anyhow, after about 20 minutes the tyres and brakes gave up and the car became too difficult to keep on the road. The Ferrari, by contrast, had very neutral handling and was much better to drive over a race distance. It too, though, had brake failure after about 20 minutes. I know it is very much a W.I.P and the physics are very beta, but I hope you go towards the Ferrari and away from the BT55 in the handling, as you want a car that is drivable but still a challenge when pushed.
Nice to see you back! Can't wait to drive these cars when finished! Just noticed one small detail. The turbos on the 98T are kicking too late, I think. In your video they start spooling at about 10-11k, but on Dumfries video you see the needle going crazy between 9-10k rpm. I think this makes sense, as this is a bi-turbo car, that has the advantage of the turbos kicking in earlier that the BT55 or the B186, that have a single bigger turbo. Giving them an edge on tighter tracks, despite having less power. Keep up the great work
rF2 RPM gauge is not showing right rpms. 10 000rpm is something like 8000rpm etc, so turbo goes like it should.
this is for you ChiefWiggum&Postipate Welcom back Postipate! I hope you like it Please i need more Cars for screenshot...
