Hi all, On the right of the main forum page there's now a section for New Profile Posts, showing public (whether they knew it or not) posts people have put on the profile page of others. Is it possible to disable that? I can't see an option for it. Cheers!
Yeah it's a bit intrusive and as you say if someone thinks they're sending a Private Message it's there for all to see!
Yeah there's a rather interesting one about AC Tracks now highly that's visible! looks like the poster thought it was a Private Message @Christopher Elliott
It was a request about an AC track that was absolutely not private. Now we know that the next S397 track will be a paid conversion from AC, I wonder how desperate S397 is. Given the "tight deadline", it'll probably another beta too, as usual.
That was no secret though. https://forum.studio-397.com/index....modeller-to-convert-track-to-rfactor-2.60273/
Right lets not go jumping to conclusions please, this thread is about the seemingly semi-private "conversions" showing up on the main page of the Forum and whether they are useful or - in my opinion - not needed in be in full view to everyone .
Single posts update appearing there is good, a bit like Twitter, usefull for quick questions and maybe telling people about open races Messages sent between people appearing there on the other hand looks very awkward
I'm sure I'm not the only one who's deleted profile posts because they were intended to be private messages (now conversations). The topic of that particular message currently showing is perhaps not private, but Marcel asked for private conversations in that thread so it's also possible (likely?) it wasn't meant to be public. Actually I'm surprised the private/public confusion isn't worse now, because I've seen people not even realising that a 'conversation' meant sending a message to someone at all - I wasn't sure myself when we switched forums, except it was the only option left...
Thanks for this head up I just checked my profile and it is actually possible to restrict this socalled "conversations". You can restrict to as example People you follow
